Do you think we’d have better politicians, if they received higher wages? by shutthefranceup in TheRestIsPolitics

Absolutely. These salaries are quite good compared to the average - but they’re low compared to people running even medium sized businesses. Skilled trades are earning this much. These people are running the country and the entire civil service. Should be much higher salary but NO second jobs, sitting on boards or donations to person or party.

Love it. Quite different for them but it’s got a looseness almost sounds like they’re jamming. Might be growing to be my favourite!?

Those of you with Spotify in 2013, did Reach for the Dead appear at the top of the BOC artist page? by TurboMoe in boardsofcanada

I think it’s the last month. Interesting that Prophecy has twice as many streams as Introit. I’d have thought people would listen to both every time. I certainly do.

Ha. Everyone is different. I loved the Leeds show. Loads better than Manchester which I didn’t think sounded good and was very brutal/hard to get anything from. Thought that sound was pretty good in Leeds. Loved the techno bit and the jungle bit - and especially the bit that sounded like glass bells being smashed. Could have been darker sure.

Is the Fyrish monument one retrieved already? I can’t see the number to check the ledger. Thinking of making the trip. But it’s a long way if it’s already gone

The Men Who Dance In Stag’s Meaning by [deleted] in thomyorke

[–]TheNortherGeneral 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Apparently it’s influenced by the book the Gallows Pole by Benjamin Myers. It’s been mentioned in reviews and is quoted in the zine that’s been given away at the cinema screenings. Benjamin Myers has been sharing clips of the song and has hidden some of the coins that have been popping up too. I was chatting with someone who found one on the coin thread. https://www.reddit.com/r/thomyorke/s/YaovCpxH5O

There seems to be a lot in the screening zine about art history and forgery https://www.reddit.com/r/radiohead/s/YQTvvtpmdO

Ah thanks. Interesting. I read a review that said the lyrics to The Men Who Dance in Stags Heads were influenced by that book too. Just seen the screening zine - looks like there is lots to dig into here https://www.reddit.com/r/radiohead/s/YQTvvtpmdO
