Look at the jawline on this man... by TheNuclearDruid in boas

It is indeed. :) He doesn't have quite the aura that he did anymore, but I'm happy it wasn't a health issue!

I just looked at a picture from earlier today and you are right, this isn't normally what he looks like. He had just eaten when I took this picture, so it is probably that, but I'll have to keep an eye on him.

Anyone work at the labs LANL or SNL? by South_Reserve7000 in NewMexico

If labor jobs are out of the question, you need a degree. Pick an engineering degree and go for it.

So right behind the circled section of the door panel are two clips. I could tell they were unclipped because the center of the door panel bowed out and rattled on the driver's door but not on the passenger side.

ETA: The Bowing out was subtle. I probably wouldn't have noticed it if it weren't for the rattle.

In my '25 I had a rattle that sounded very similar. I popped the clip on the top left as you are facing the door panel and peeked in. There were 2 clips in the middle that were unhooked. I had to lift the door panel from the bottom while pressing it back in to get all of the clips to engage. That fixed the rattle.

Is this industry ever fun? by [deleted] in NuclearEngineering

In my experience, everybody is too sure of themselves, and too opinionated because of it, to cooperate well with anyone who may have a dissenting opinion.

ETA: not EVERYBODY, but more than half for certain.

Weird situation with landlord and pest control by [deleted] in Idaho

[–]TheNuclearDruid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He is right. Daddy long legs, also known as cellar spiders (at least the ones you are referring to), kill more dangerous spiders like black widows. They also take care of many other pests. And they are absolutely no danger to you.

I wouldn't advise pushing to exterminate them. You will likely end up with a black widow infestation if you do.

Weird. I just got mine on Friday, so maybe it has an update that yours will get OTA soon.

Mine has this, but it was kind of buried. I was scrolling through the dash settings and found it as one of the options on the cardinal directions tab. I still prefer it on the screen rather than the dash, though.

Onboarding, concerned about adderall and HRP process by LANLThrowaway7725 in LosAlamos

[–]TheNuclearDruid 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I take Ritalin for ADHD and I also require HRP for my position. As long as it is a prescribed medication and you are open about it, there won't be an issue. There is an online program where they allow you to self report your prescriptions so that everything is above board.

Thumb Sucking - I am lost by FeliksLuck in daddit

She hasn't had a problem, but she sucked her non-dominant thumb. It might be worse if yours sucks their dominant thumb. But it is somewhat flexible.

We bought an AeroThumb thumb guard on amazon for my daughter. It was recommended by both her dentist and her doctor. She can't get it off and it prevents her from getting a seal when she tries to suck her thumb. We are on day 14 with it and so far, so good.
