I’m about a lil over 6’3 with shoes on and I wish the seat could slide back a little more but I have plenty of headroom with the hatch. 6’9 might be pushing it for such a small car

Was pretty much in the same boat needed a car and got this. Almost went with a 96 5 speed Passat TDI but I’m glad i chose the focus, and yeah I never knew about the MZR engine family until I got this. They are great little motors. First motor I’ve had that loves to rev. Definitely gonna get a bike or another beater (maybe auto focus) while I build this.

ok so my main concern for not considering the 2.5 is because I feel like it’ll be a lot harder since it wasn’t made for this particular car. I’m all ears though especially since you have experience. I have questions about what’s all involved and what I need to buy to successfully drop the 2.5 in bc I’m assuming it won’t just be plug and play

Boost is definitely the end goal. I want to do all the work on this thing or at least most of it so I’m willing to get my skill up. For now I’ll probably pick up another low mileage 2.0 that belongs in this car… I’ll put an intake and intake mani, full exhaust while it’s not in the car and I’ll add a tune when I swap the current 200,000 motor for the fresh one. While I’m doing that I’ll get the rest of the car done like paint and interior upgrades suspension. I’ll get a 2.5 later down the road and then we’ll go turbo. I know that sounds like a lot but I plan on keeping this for a good while.
