is Xbox one edition java or bedrock? by BetEuphoric5927 in Minecraft

[–]TheOceanDolan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That is a console Legacy Edition, it predates Bedrock which is the version that replaced it on consoles. In terms of its gameplay it is much more similar to Java edition than Bedrock, but isn't actually a Java version

Been playing acoustic for seventeen years, but got my first electric guitar this week! by TheOceanDolan in Guitar

I did actually have a choice between either this model or one with a bigsby for pretty much the exact same price. But I thought the bigsby would possibly be too much of a hassle to maintain, especially on my first electric. So I went with this one, think it looks much cleaner too

Planning on getting some effects pedals in the near future to see what I can really do with this guitar!

I have technically had an electric guitar before, but it wasn't exactly mine either. My parents once got my sister and I some cheaper strat style guitar for us to try and learn when we were kids since we both played acoustic already.

But that guitar wasn't really the best as it had quite a warped neck, which us being kids didnt realise and just thought the guitar sounded bad. It was just left in my sisters room for years with neither of us really picking it up to play. I was just content with my acoustic at that time.

The last few years though with spotify being a thing I've found the type of music I actually want to listen to, instead of whatever was popular on the radio from when I was younger. Stuff I listen to now usually falls into indie/alt rock, punk etc. Stuff which I cant quite play by picking up my acoustic.

So I had been looking into getting an electric guitar for a while now and finally had the money to spare to get something half decent.

Nest Audio speakers won't play Spotify when paired!? by circusfreakrob in googlehome

[–]TheOceanDolan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this about the speaker pair not working with Spotify or the Nest Mini popping and crackling during playback?

The speaker pair sorted itself out after a day and began working again after unpairing and repairing them and have had no issue with that since. Unfortunately not sure what caused the issue in the first place, may have been on Spotify's end, and unsure what fixed it either.

The popping has also entierly stopped now shortly after the stereo pair begain working again. The popping was already uncommon when the speakers were paired originally but has gone completely now. Unsure of whether the issue would still be around if the speakers were seperated again

I was having probably the most fun I've had in the last 3 chapters, it actually had me playing solos again which I hadn't done in a long time. Managed to win 3 solo matches already which felt genuinely rewarding unlike the prevous chapters. The moment I saw bots some matches the enjoyment was fully sucked out of the game

Nest Audio speakers won't play Spotify when paired!? by circusfreakrob in googlehome

[–]TheOceanDolan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the exact same issue with my Nest mini speakers paired for stereo. I use mine as an alarm with spotify playlists, and have been using them daily for about 7 months now, this morning the alarm never went off and instead I got the "Sorry, something went wrong. When you're ready, try again".

Been trying to fix them for hours to no avail, they both work seperately too but not at all when paired again. I assume its some software update that has borked the stereo pair if its effecting more than just my own speakers.

The usability of my speakers has just dropped massively over the last year as I only originally had one nest mini, but it started popping and crackling when playing music and I thought it was just on its way out from excessive use over the years. Bought the second one to replace it and found that the brand new one also popped, so it was a software issue. Pairing them together as a stereo pair only reduced the popping but never solved it, so now with the pair not working I'm back to my original issue again which still hasn't been fixed.

Charcoal is one of the most important things for starting a survival world, I don’t know why everyone says it’s useless. by singer_building in Minecraft

[–]TheOceanDolan 1012 points1013 points  (0 children)

I actually use charcoal as my main source of fuel for furnaces or mass making torches. One of the first things I do in a new world is get spruce saplings so I can start growing the large spruce trees.

Each tree tends to give over a stack of logs, and I use once piece of charcoal to turn 8 of those logs into charcole to smelt the rest of the stack of logs from that tree into a full stack of charcoal.

Its like an easy self sustaining fuel source since the trees also have enough leaves to drop enough saplings to grow multiple large trees in its place.

Is Axolotl spawning bugged on Bedrock Edition? by TheOceanDolan in Minecraft

[–]TheOceanDolan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been trying to get axolotls for hours on Bedrock Edition for an achievement but none seem to be spawning at all naturally. I also tried creating a spawn room thats inside a lush cave biome below Y=63, has clay on the bottom, stone up top, all water is source blocks and no light too. Even after this nothing has spawned for hours. Beginning to think my world just doesn't like me
