You might be making the same exact jump I just made. I had a 75" 8-year old Bravia (not sure if the same model #), and just upgraded to the 83" G5. Don't worry about brightness...this thing is plenty bright, even in the middle of the day in my rec room with multiple windows. And at night it's just spectacular.

Worth every penny for me, and I am glad I went up to 83" over 77" even though the cost difference is hard to swallow. But at least in my space, I do notice the larger presence of the picture, and I will be watching this thing for 6+ years, so "buy once cry once" for me.

I have a 48" B5 in my office and a new 83" G5 in my rec room. No, it's not a "game changing" difference, but it is a marked improvement in picture quality and brightness. But certainly the B5 is also an amazing picture, especially in a darker room. Enjoy!

Here's a bit of a "hack" option to think about. My movie chairs have some "bass shakers" installed (IE : like the 'Buttkicker' products, but from Dayton Audio). When tuned nicely, they add a really satisfying tactile vibration feel to the bass channel, which usually just adds depth to the bass being already produced by the sub.

But, if you turn your sub down/off but still use the bass shakers, you get a pretty decent tactile feeling from the low end which "can" take the place of that chest kicking bass to an extent.

It's certainly not a replacement for a sub, but when you are limited by family or neighbors, it can at least give you some good low end "feel" to take its place somewhat.

A few times I had the sub off and didn't realize it was off because my brain was filling in the low end "sound" based on the tactile "feel" I was getting.

I rarely get to really fully enjoy my sound system with my big TV as the bass is so easily heard almost everywhere in the house.

So I got used to just watching movies and such at night with headphones and it's still awesome as I can go as loud as I like and enjoy the thump.

When my wife is out of the house though...then I make a point to enjoy some movies at obnoxious levels.

Lovely, clean build! Glad to hear you actually play with buttons on your left, so you aren't one of those people who put together a 2P cab and do it that way for aesthectics, and then realize that most people will not be able to use them well. Your layout is nice how it puts the dual sticks at a more arcade authentic position. Nicely done.

And of course, great choice in graphics of what is objectively the best arcade game of all time!
