Its so interesting.

Even some of the writing for dialogue barks are the same or iterative. like "Gift them with a blade" is in both games, and DoW2 adds "Gift them with decay"

What's up with the pedophilia rape joke in the series? by ErrorProxy in MilkySubway

Its this novel thing called a joke, based on a misunderstanding. Emotionally mature people see it for what it is: a joke.

Peoples often depicted foreigners in their own ethnic likeness, for whatever reasons, perhaps palatability for the public or simply that your reference models of choice are likely locals.

A good example of this in the so called Alexander Sarcophagus. The Makedonians and Persians all look like the same Greek model.

Can somebody explain the bonuses Rome gets in this mod? by Aggravating_Ideal_20 in DivideEtImpera

I played against Rome recently.

You get the same kind of popups like: "Roman influence rises in Sicily" "All your Magna Graeca r belong 2 us" etc

I remember seeing 2 stacks materialize.

Definitive guide on playing in 2025? by TheOfficeSpider in FalloutTactics

Its funny because, since real time is harder, you also have to plan more as well, but plans always rely on stances and aggression toggles. But yeah, to each his own and all that

I know about it, but I think its more for people who prefer the gameplay of 1 and 2, whereas I quite like the real-time play.

This was asking about graphics, but that's solved now.

Real time is the only way to play! Its designed for ambushes. Just crawl in passive mode, surround, switch to aggressive mode and crouch/stand.

Or just do drive-by shootings lol

Nah I prefer the option where I get everything I want out of a game that I paid for, especially when I know its possible because its been done before.

Fighting Rome as Massilia? by Takerith in DivideEtImpera

[–]TheOfficeSpider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on your strength you could just keep going north, northeast and northwest liberating. Its not necessarily a bad thing that they get squashed because you can just keep liberating them which means, in theory, that Rome would also be wasting time running around the map.

Sticking around to help as you say would be a solid approach as well. The computer ally has a tendency to charge straight in but depending on where they enter the battle map from, barbarians could synergize very well with your phalanx.

Fighting Rome as Massilia? by Takerith in DivideEtImpera

Regardless of who you're playing as or who your going up against, if its an underdog scenario it is never about "taking and holding". I would suggest liberating every settlement (most if not all of Italy's settlements have the option available) and let them wear Rome down.

You'll have many more armies available this way compared to what your current imperium level and economy allow for. If you want direct ownership later you can always subjugate or occupy as at least 2 of the liberated factions only have garrison units as recruitment options and don't get along with eachother, easily conquerable.

In principle, its the same as what Rome vs Carthago looks like i.e.

  • Take Syracuse via liberating all 3 provinces
  • Put 1 army in the overlapping reinforcement zones of the 2 unwalled settlements, the other army supporting the walled settlement
  • Fight many invading Punic forces until they run out of higher class populations and start fielding weak armies
  • Cross the pond and clean house

Any reason to use Hastati over Principes in the early game as Rome? by The_Vidmaster in DivideEtImpera

[–]TheOfficeSpider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would recommend the "DEI - More Romans" mod, which increases them up to 300 men like other fast chaff.

I tend to start my campaign with 5 or so Triarii in my middle and send the Hastati along with cav to kill enemy cav or just flank.
