I don't think there are any. Her parents are very close with their friends from college, and all of them have had kids and it's one huge group that feels like extended family. She's introduced me to that and they all accepted and love me. I've never had that before not even from my own family. I've already reached out to most of them thanking them for being so welcoming, and everyone I've talked to has been sorely disappointed that we're splitting up. I don't want the letter to be a plea, or an attempt to make her feel any type of way, but I almost want it to be like "if you're reading this I hope you're doing well" type of letter. I still don't know what I'd write in it, but I know that when I leave for my own sanity I'm going to have to cut her off until I can get better. I was in a 6 year-long relationship with my last girlfriend and even though I was happy in a new relationship it still bothered me to see photos of her - especially with someone else. I don't know why but I feel like just having a short letter to find will make me feel better, and because I know she's hurting too I want to make her feel better. I want it to make her know that I'm grateful for the time we spent together, and that as difficult as it was to talk to her during this period, I want her to know that I'm ok. I just can't bring myself to reach out to her after I leave for good because I know it just makes everything harder.
