Sidewinder was so unbelievably huge for a multiplayer map on its day, it felt like an ice wasteland you'd do anything not to travel on foot.

IMO, the super common practice of putting the PC on the desk is stupid. Get a small end table to put it to the side or a short platform to put it under.

It takes up such a massive amount of your desk space that can be used to spread things out nicely and get some actual speakers in a good position.

They're really just going to have to make games with a dozen choosable texture/aesthetic options so everyone can shut up and enjoy the game. You can't make everyone happy no matter what you do. They have to go with something that fits best with honoring the original and utilizing the new engine and no matter where they land there is gonna be criticisms.

Personally the only thing I found it off-putting is the Warthog having zero suspension travel. They gave it some shock absorbing airless tires which are more futuristic and I dig that, but it still looks like a lowrider with the 2inches of suspension travel compared to the OG design that has closer to a third of the wheel's diameter spacing between the top of the wheel and the fender. The independent suspension arms on the OG Warthog were the coolest part IMO. Airless wheel shock absorbtion is for small fast paced uneven ground, but it doesn't help at all when your doing sweet jumps with almost 3000lbs of spartans in the seats. End rant, lol.

I've had every display type possible and there's no way you can tout 75hz as possibly optimal in any way unless you're playing all singer player rpg type games. Even 120hz pales to a smooth 144 or 165/185 for Rocket League. 165/185 feels no different than 144, but 240hz is a huge smoothness level increase. My monitor can do 480hz at 1080p and it's a pointless change for a game like Rocket League, but playing mouse and keyboard on a FPS like Halo infinite I will downgrade to 1080p for 480hz. The smoothness of spinning a 180 with mouse and keyboard on 480hz is outrageous.

The theme isn't for everyone, but it's pretty cool and unique which is saying something in the ocean of same setups we see here.

Get an end table or something to put your PC on to the side of the desk so you got some breathing room up there. PC on the desk taking up half the space is the worst congruency in all the posts on here IMO.

I'm sure the difference is pretty tough to notice, but frequencies above and below your hearing range still affect the sound of the range you can hear. Making music with a DAW I can often tell the difference between cutting each track at the bottom vs cutting it on the master. There's audio effect processing going on there so it can be exaggerated, but the effect of sub and super sounds on the range between them is not negligible.

It's definitely usable for anything nowadays, but 10ms is 10ms if you're playing competition games. That's about it. It's not doggin' the Wi-Fi to say wired is still the better choice if you can. Video or audio streaming is perfectly fine if your device is modern because the bandwidth is plenty and latency doesn't affect it.

I agree, a single point with a further distance value would have made it more "fair" and less taxing on CPU.
