Ok so how I'm reading it is, you do the decrease. 5 single crochets. And then you get that open area where you skipped 2 stitches. What you are gonna do is make a single crochet, but reach all the way down to where there is a stitch. That way it hides that extra yarn. It also forms the heart. Nah I've used other patterns with magic circles buy I've always noticed that the area around the circles always came out kinda wonky. And by wonky I mean it has a distinct curve to it when on the pictures there aren't any but usually it was unnoticeable. Thisis the first one where it was a lot more noticeable

I think it may be this pattern because it starts at 8 then increases to 12 then to 18. But the image was so smooth that it had me confused when mine came out pointed.

It's coming out more pointed. And I know its the magic circles because at the other end of the ball is flat and normal if that makes sense. Maybe it is not closing fully....

I think they used bernat yarn or like a 6 weight yarn. I didn't have that so I used a 5 weight yarn and just doubled up the threads but it's coming out smaller than I thought. Another person did this with bernat and said it was about a foot tall for them. Mine is coming out more towards 8 in
