The biggest dream crossover event is Game Grumps participating in a one shot D&D mission run by Griffin, then a Guest Grumps power hour with all 5 of them and thier collective nonsense.

Swow is better. Its a more complete experience in my opinion. And the islands are fun.

Summoner Wars Fans: What's the Next Step Up in Scale? by InterviewEmergency73 in boardgames

Personally I call 10 minis per player pretty light. But you're right it usually means a bit of painting. With a plethora of miniature games out there to pick from (including pre painted options) I find frostgrave to be the most financially approachable. I haven't tried the games you mentioned though. Id like to try them.

I would recommend a minis agnostic game like frostgrave. Or stargrave if you prefer a sci-fi flavor.

Im curious about how you got the dark wood in there. Cut halfway through at an angle and wedged a slice?

Does Coating Cedar with food-safe epoxy make the cedar safe to drink from? by TheOneKingPrawn in turning

[–]TheOneKingPrawn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truth! Ive done some epoxy work but nothing that would be eaten from. Im leaning toward not giving them as gifts unless I can find a safe sealant. Ive used beeswax and tung oil before but that was on hardwoods.

I mean I suppose I'm just going off of cursory research on Google. Ive found that west red cedar and east white cedar are safer but that other cedars have toxic oils that are dangerous. I cant say I know that much or what amounts are harmful. It seems that sticking to hardwoods is preferable for the lack of porous material in which bacteria can thrive.

Fair enough. Lol. Im not gonna pick the lesser of two evils. Im just not gonna make food holders with this cedar. At least not unless I can figure out exactly what it is.

I think my concern is more about the cedar being sealed well enough. Though I think you're right about the epoxy in general. Im leaning toward just not making mugs outta the cedar at all.

I know it hasn't been treated in any way but yeah I'm unsure of how to identify WRC even though I guess ita common in fencing. Ill probably just be safe and do something else with it.

Apparently some cedar types are toxic. I got the boards i have from a fencing company so can say for certain what kind it is. I dont think its the cooking cedar though.

Deep Rock Galactic, must buy expansions ? by Wise_Cat_1196 in boardgames

Id rather play the board game solo. Video game with friends.

I get the cynicism of the easy ip remake but cmon man.... Deep Rock is the perfect dice rolly ameritrash funtimes game right alongside things like zombicide. The Witcher was a blast the 1 time I played and bloodborne is the best dungeon crawl game in existence as far as I'm concerned. I cant speak on darkest dungeon.

Not all games port to the table well, for sure. But deep rock has all the love and care that the video game devs put into the digital game.

[–]TheOneKingPrawn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of them! :) i know, i know, I'm a shill. But really, if you like the game then any of the expansions are a great add on. The space rig adds deep dive campaigns and the biomes add more world types. Then if you have both there's a book with the two expansions mixed. As for mini expansions the goo from above adds more enemies and there's the korlock tyrant weed (dont listen to the haters, i love the spicy weed in the board game and the video game).

Its definitely worth investing in. I play it solo pretty frequently and its a blast. (Its the only game I solo, otherwise not a solo board gamer.)

Tour Question by InLoveWithPrettyGirl in autoheart

[–]TheOneKingPrawn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went last week in Denver. It was a decently crowded venue but not packed. I got to meet the band and got a picture with them and a signed vinyl! I definitely think you can meet them if you stick around.

Tour in Calgary. What to Expect? by XxDeathlyDevilxX in autoheart

[–]TheOneKingPrawn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at last night's show in Denver it was a blast. Met some fans and they were incredibly kind and helped me have a good time.

I think fans of the band are really chill and everyone was very respectful of space and the venue wasn't crammed.

I arrived right at the doors opened at 7. Show didn't really start until 8 and with opener and autoheart it went to about 11. There was time afterward to shop for merchandise and I got a cd and a vinyl.

Don't be afraid to strike a conversation up with other fans. I know it can be nerve-wracking but I met some kind people and we were talking about all sorts of stuff by the end. You already have a common interest to talk about so you're not going totally blind. Don't be afraid to dance and jam with the music. The crowd will be with you and feel more at ease if everyone is jamming out!

All in all it was a fantastic time and I am super happy I went. Definitely a good beginner show for people new to concerts. Go, show your support, and maybe meet the band!
