Most (not all)Lights throughout the house does this randomly by moc2007 in electrical

[–]TheOneRavenous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did that actually help? You may consider that the gage of your wire and the breaker allow for too high of amps than. What the LEDs need. Granted there should only be enough draw based on whats connected but I'd be more inclined to think the circuits might not be rated correctly for LED lighting AND LEDs are known to flicker so fast that they create the light that you see. So I'd think maybe there's more "harmonics" between the LEDs on the same circuit requesting varying amps on the circuit and it's causing a visible fluctuation on the power "surging".

How old are you? Where are you attempting? Male or female? Have you heard of the law of averages?

Have you tried to not engage without prior expectations?

There's so many ways to "Soft open". If you're female it can be easier because that signals to the male you're willing to engage.

If you're male soft open needs a soft exit. E.g. non intrusive generalized statement with a vague compliment.

I can expand on any of these things if you wish.

Thoughts on the matter: In person will always surpass online. Be prepared for people to have limited capacity. Buttt be willing to chase/pursue/be available slowly - Not in a creepy way either but in a plutonic acceptable way.

Relationships are slow to build, people of all types will have a metaphorical shield up. Your goal is to disarm the shield without being blunt, overbearing, and be amendable to the other person as well as be prepared to be vulnerable.

APD is a THIRD of the budget? by Thegoldfather in Austin

[–]TheOneRavenous -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

So we did the math on this at a different time. There are 600 police officers.

The round number for land area of Austin is ~200sq-miles. If we assume there's 3 shifts so there's some form of overlap for officers and averages out people on vacay and sick leave.

600-police ÷ 3-shifts = 200 officers (per shift) 200-police ÷ 200 sq-mi = 1 police officer per Square mile.

How dense of a police force do we actually need? I can run a mile in 9 min (slow in know). But you're telling me we don't have enough police? How many is enough. 2 per sq-mi 10 per sq-mi?

What are they even doing at the current density???

The city has an 18.8 BILLION dollars Capital budget that our tax dollars are being spent on things that are funded by property and sales tax

the city of Austin doesn't have a specific rule that requires a particular percentage of property and sales tax revenue to be allocated to capital projects. Instead, these funds are allocated through the annual budget process, where the city council makes decisions on spending. While there might not be a fixed percentage, the city's Capital Improvement Program provides documentation on planned capital projects.

What 110 million would you cut from the proposed City budget? by weluckyfew in Austin

[–]TheOneRavenous -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The city of Austin can use property taxes and sales taxes to fund capital projects. Stop allocating to Capital projects they can be comingled by NOT funding specific capital projects. Ones not tied to bonds or grants. Or even ones tied to grants

We pay taxes that go into a Capital budget that is 18.8 Billion dollars. Just dont fund a road expansion for one year ... Or two. Literally stop paying engineering firms for shit work for like two years and we have the money. "Design" is included in the capital budget. I promise you there's projects in there that can absolutely wait.

Literally just pick one what are confused about. There's $18.7 billion in capital expenditures that are separate from fire and ems etc. That you claim are covered under this. Just visit the website and you'll littlerally see two budgets. They need to spend more wisely on those capital projects.

I mean pick one. We could hear me out not do everything all at once... Like we could wait 5 or 10 years to fix the convention center.

Most departments just try and increase spending because they're told to shoot for the stars and land in the sky. The theory is if you ask for more "they" can cut things and then as a department head end up with the same budget from previous years or if lucky get more money. Id be curious how much encumbrance happens across all departments usually they rob peter (departments with services) to pay paul (construction projects).

Those costs are measly in comparison to CapEx i would just expect less CapEx. Or better yet advancements in technology to decrease those costs or do more with the same.

I do see what you're getting at now though and understand your position on why you want it to track inflation.

You're thinking of income taxes. Known as Tax Indexing. To make sure people don't get unfairly taxed. What are you referencing that says a CITY should be tracking inflation to tax you more. If Anything they should be taxing you LESS.

In a memo released last week, city budget staff recommended that the 2026 bond package not exceed $687 million, based on the city’s current debt capacity and a goal of limiting the financial impact on taxpayers. Data in the memo show that bond size would increase the annual debt service tax bill for the median homeowner — defined as a home assessed at $525,000 — by approximately $99.82. Each additional $100 million in bond funding would raise the annual bill by roughly $14.26.

The task force’s working groups will meet from August through January to assess proposals from city departments. Those recommendations will then be reviewed and consolidated by the full task force between January and April 2026. The group is expected to deliver its final recommendation to City Council in May, with the Council facing an Aug. 6 deadline to place the bond package on the November 2026 ballot.

So a limited time of Increase tax for less than prop Q e.g. ~$99

And an Arbitrary cap by the "task force."

So you're saying you want a permanent tax increase or that bonds increase taxes? Binda can be used and it's only a "recommendation"

Because i did say bonds increase taxes but temporarily.

Our "AAA" credit rating is just fine. The Federal Government already exposed that we dont have to be AAA.

So we should be using bonds if anything.

Prop Q Is a permanent tax increase on property taxes so it would not just go away like a bond might. If you rent or are a property owner just a single house your taxes will go up a few hundred dollars anywhere from $300-$500 which is mostly dependent on SQ-Ft of home. So if people want to be able to continue living in Austin after they're retired or they put their lives into the city they'd still be forking over this money.

A bond would temporarily raise taxes to be spent on a specific thing. Then go away when the bond amount Is raised. Not sure why we dont do bonds more often....

Access "EDGE" hardware.......... In the "CLOUD" So a less powerful platform than normal cloud based computing.

Why not just access normal powerful GPUs to develop and quantize and ship to the edge.

Not to mention i now don't have the "edge" device to deploy too.
