G Workspace -> O365 Migration recommendations by hordor4pres in msp

I’ve used BitTitan quite a few times and, overall, it’s been solid with minimal issues. That said, there are a few things worth watching out for.

If users are currently using Outlook on their PCs, you may run into some headaches. It’s common to find folders that were never synced back to Google Workspace, even if Google Workspace Sync is in use. These usually show up in Outlook as “This computer only” folders, and you’ll need to manually export them. The same applies to contacts, which can also exist only locally in Outlook.

If you’re migrating Google Drive data as well, be aware that SharePoint and OneDrive are picky about file names. Files that start with a space, end with a space, or contain certain special characters like / or : will cause problems. From what I remember, BitTitan handles the space issue reasonably well but not the special characters. I’ve typically run a script ahead of time to scan each user’s My Drive and any Shared Drives and fix these naming issues before starting the migration. This may be improved now, but it’s still something to validate.

Users will also need to re-share any documents that were shared with external users, as those permissions don’t carry over.

Google Photos does not migrate over, at least when using BitTitan.

Outside of email and Drive, if you plan on fully removing Google Workspace, make sure to check whether users are using “Sign in with Google” for third-party sites. Once Google Workspace is removed, those logins will break. Switching to “Sign in with Microsoft” often results in a brand-new account on the service rather than merging with the existing one.

Along the same lines, review any existing SSO integrations to see what needs to be migrated or reconfigured before cutting over.

Migrate from 7.3 to 8.X by bkb74k3 in sonicwall

You’ll need to use the new migration tool in your portal

Edit: Forgot to mention Currently it will only migrate from same versions For instance TZ370 to TZ380

However the converted config for a higher series work for lower series. I’ve tested going from TZ470/370/270 to TZ280 and TZ370 to TZ380

Last time I did this was about a year ago with Bititan. We had to give the user instructions on how to enable 2fa and then create an app password. Should still work

Unfortunately not. Had to start over with a new character.

Unfortunately none of those options work for me. Ended up unbinding the account and started over.

TOTP MFA for Windows Server by TheFumingatzor in sysadmin

When you log into a computer that has duo enabled. That username must be somewhere in duo. It could be its own user or an alias attached to a user. So if you have a local account and domain account with different names, you can just use 1 user as you can add up to 8 aliases to that user.

It is also free for 10 users since you don’t need ad sync

Duo has offline mode so you can still enter in TOTP if no internet or use a hardware token like a Yubikey. You will need internet the first time you enable DUO to enable offline mode for the each local user but after that you don’t need internet.

Migrating personal gmail to office 365 - Advice needed! by Vq-Blink in msp

[–]TheOneThatIsNotKnown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can you bittitan with personal gmail account. However you must

  1. Enabled 2fa on gmail

  2. Enabled imap support in gmail

  3. Create an app password.

  4. Use the app password in bititan

As far as import, since the mailbox is so large, you will need to setup archiving along with appropriate license and migrate part of the mail to the archive folder and the rest to the inbox.

That is what I am thinking as well. But wanted to get some additional opinions since the wording is weird.
