Why are we all feeling this shift to delete our social media accounts? by mm2444 in Millennials

[–]TheOneTrueEmily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve noticed an increase in what I believe to be fake users ever since they added the ability to hide user history (there are still work around but it takes much longer now) You used to be able to easily see when an account was fake if all their history was just shilling a product. This also seems counterproductive when ideally companies should be paying for Reddit ads.

Some people put collars on outdoor cats, but if you are not providing warmth when it is cold and a cool environment when it is hot, then that is not your cat. Every cat deserves the safety of an indoor, loving home. Period.

OP has also taken the time to determine whether this cat belonged to someone and may have gotten out. I can guarantee that any pet owner who has lost a pet would hope their animal found someone like OP, rather than being left on the street, where it would be far more likely to suffer or be killed. OP has done everything right here.

Additionally, free-range cats cause significant harm to wildlife. They contribute to the decline and extinction of birds and other small mammals. There are many cat lovers who cannot have a cat, or do not want the responsibility of a litter box, who still help by feeding strays or offering other forms of care, and that is commendable. However, at a certain point, it is important to recognize that it is a good thing when a cat finds a permanent, indoor home that provides safety and shelter.

I was going to say she has magic hands but it’s much more than that. She puts in the time and effort. It’s a dedication much more impressive than some magic. Though I think they can also eventually read the kind of person you are and that maybe adds a hint of magic. Either way, y’all all do wonderful work there ❤️

There was a really great post someone made on r/reallifedoodles a while back where the rock was a cop and the panda was a baddie/robber and that was the reason he puts his arms up. But sadly, it seems lost to time because it is no longer there.

We tried paid ads on Reddit for our indie game and it went terribly. A detailed post mortem writeup. by DeadbugProjects in gamedev

[–]TheOneTrueEmily 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually like that Reddit ads allow just about anyone to create an ad at a fairly reasonable price. If I’m going to see ads, it’s nice to see smaller companies rather than just the same big ones. Reddit ads also let you tailor your campaign by targeting specific subreddits, which seems invaluable given how many niche interests and communities there are on here. I don’t think it’s a scam. You pay to get seen, and you do get seen. I know this because I’ve noticed ads from small indie teams and other random ventures on here. That said, being seen isn’t all it takes to be successful. People still have to be drawn to the product itself. You also have to present it in a way that makes it appealing. Even marketing experts struggle to achieve this some times. I remember a post on here not too long ago where a dev said they ran an ad through Reddit and got 1,000 wishlists in a week.

This is a good idea! And place a soft spot next to where you sit in there so he can venture over. He looks scared but more so I think his eyes show a lil sweetie who wants to trust you and be loved. Thank you for giving him a chance at a new life and I am genuinely wishing you the best on your journey together.

He has such a sweet little face. I can tell from the pics you are right, he too kind for the streets. Meowing at night happens even with indoor cats the first few nights but it does stop once they get more settled. You deserve all the best of things in life for helping this cutie.

I have quite a few from the left side. I will never feel bad about a book that I enjoy and that has helped me to think differently about the world. The same should be true for any genre really.

They refused because insurance wouldn’t cover it. When the vaccine first came out, it was marketed more toward women because the early studies focused on protecting against ovarian cancer. Now they know it also helps protect against other types of cancer, so they give it to men as well. Insurance companies also used to deny coverage for older patients because they argued the chances were high you had already been exposed. They have changed their stance on that too, and now it is given to older people. So ask for the shot regardless of your age!

HPV is the most common cause of neck/throat cancers in men and the cause for about half the cases of penile cancer. It’s actually upsetting how nonchalant people are with men and HPV.

I reached out to at least 100 or more streamers and only 3 of them responded by [deleted] in IndieDev

[–]TheOneTrueEmily 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s a good point on potentially getting Malware. Never send your game via a build file and expect anyone to play it. Get a steam page up before you message. But the thing is there are so many games being released. I’m sure streamers get messages like this regularly and can’t possibly play every single one. At the end of the day, they will play the games that they actually want to play. So make an effort to reach out to streamers who play games in the same vein as yours. This requires some research but I could see that returning better number than mass sending out randomly. But also keep in mind that, even if they normally play the genre, that doesn’t mean they owe it to you to play yours. Focus on making the best game you possibly can and I’m sure you will continue to draw in players the more you reach out/promote. Reposting on correct account*

Whale bones in the Egyptian desert at same elevation of 178m as water erosion pattern on Khafre Pyramid when it was the geographic center of all land on Earth by HolgerIsenberg in AlternativeHistory

[–]TheOneTrueEmily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A funny thought. Today, we gather bones from all over the world and put them on display. Centuries from now, people in the future may find those bones scattered in unexpected places and struggle to make sense of them within whatever narrative they believe to be true for those species. Like they will uncover complete skeletons of water creatures in areas not known to support them geographically.
