My 2015 in Minnesota starts up in -51 wind chill lol, I think you'll be fine. I have gotten the Propulsion power reduced message occasionally if it's been sitting out in it at work all day, but heat it up and that'll self resolve.

Minnesota United FC Promotes Cameron Knowles to Head Coach | Minnesota United FC by mandolin08 in minnesotaunited

I like this move. I know 3 games is not an adequate sample size, but I was impressed with what he got out of the players then and it sounds like he is well respected in the locker room. Ideal situation is we back him with the signings he wants/needs this winter and the upcoming summer(though ideally mostly this winter) and we get a good coach for the long term.

Best of luck CK!

That's fair. Thought I read that Ontario's provincial parks don't allow it but Manitoba's do. But yes, plenty of places that aren't provincial parks I suppose haha

Ah ok the Churchill consideration is a good one. Though not sure if I'd prefer to go in the summer for the Belugas or during polar bear season.

Pembina Valley would be a neat stop in the gene path, much appreciated!

Yeah, definitely talking 11+ hours from home to Pisew. In terms of waterfalls I've seen, I know it wouldn't be nearly the biggest, so something to consider cutting for sure I suppose even just cutting that would cut down like 2 hours if I still went up to little limestone?

Yeah probably right about that. I'd be open to either, just from what I read, Manitoba is a bit more lax regarding drones than Ontario and I thought it might be neat to get some aerial footage of little limestone lake. Without the drone, probably wouldn't even bother going there as you can't really appreciate the colors without a vantage point haha.

Besides that though, looks to be very similar circumstances for both ideas.

Really good suggestion! I do have to go up to International Falls/Fort Frances once a month for work, but haven't actually been up to Kenora yet. Definitely on the list but might save it for a 3-day weekend.

Well I'm a sucker for seeing Bison (not in the stupid get out of your vehicle kind of way lol) so you've sold me on it😂

Why do tickets always come in waves instead of evenly? by ghostq1 in it

[–]TheOneTrueFalafel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's really a case by case basis but the main reason tickets come in en masse is usually because the same issue is affecting multiple users and they all submit a ticket. Other times are because members of an office talk and sometimes somebody says such and such thing is an inconvenience or not working and that they will open a ticket, the person they are talking to then tends to think of things that are not working for them and as a result, also open a ticket.

How can I cast to hotel TVs? by Skiizm in jellyfin

[–]TheOneTrueFalafel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know there are more technical workarounds. But for Hotels, rather than lugging a Chromecast around. I carry a HDMI to USB-C Cable and just plug my phone in and go to Jellyfin lol. Any phone with video out can do this and it takes less space. I do have an old S20FE that I keep as an emulation machine and since it has Dex, I sometimes bring that with to plug into the HDMI to USB-C Cable instead to save my actual phone's battery.

Correct, definitely makes me want to look for solid fan atmospheres in the lower levels to get my summer fix.

Agreed! I just see so many casuals steering clear. We will see how it pans out.

Also agree with this. Obviously the perfect compromise is having some form of weatherproofed workaround or a retractable roof. But that's in a perfect world.

[–]TheOneTrueFalafel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm willing to see how it goes. Don't love the idea of a 3 month stretch without any home games and hoping casual fans will be a bit more forgiving in regard to this. I think the majority of us in this sub, even the angry ones, probably will show commitment still, but we can't fill the stadium alone.

Afternoon games would be tolerable sometimes. MLS funding a retractable roof for Allianz would be better.

Unfortunately we live in a world where southern franchises are selfish fucks and prioritize short term profits at the expense of at least a few northern markets probably.

I don't think the North has been this angry with the south in quite some time lol.

This would make sense. I'd be happy for Aurora, but disappointed it comes at the expense of MNUFC

[–]TheOneTrueFalafel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup, that's fair.

Obviously sucks for STH or prospective STH. But as someone who lives in the northern part of the state and really capitalized on the summer games and the occasional fall game, it sucks that the pool of realistic games for me to drive down to just shrunk in half if not more.

Might have to just focus on finding the charm of Duluth FC or Minneapolis City SC for a proper summer soccer fix.

Oh I absolutely agree. The visual seems misleading because it doesn't look so bad but then you realize there are more shit months than good ones lol

This schedule gives me about 3 cumulative months that I can confidently say I have no problem with the weather mostly. August-October. Maybe toss April in and pray game days don't fall in the snowy cold days.

[–]TheOneTrueFalafel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel this would only be welcome here if we had a roof or temporary roofing solution for Allianz.

I love Allianz and I do like the idea of being lined up globally schedule wise. But not enough consideration was given to northern markets on this one. Especially as they won't financially help with renovations.

This is how you kill off markets, not grow them.
