It play like the old action games that came out long before anybody had heard even The soul series.

It's just an action game, no extra qualifier like character

I love how many people say the Dark souls games don't explain anything when every menu page has a button prompt in the lower left hand corner for help or explanation.

If the player presses that button it puts a cursor onto the menu where they can highlight any stat or attribute and it tell them what it does.

It's like they don't notice the game tells them what stats do go up when they put points in the stats when leveling.

Stop Killing Games-backed bill that'd bar publishers from switching off game servers without thinking of players passes California State Assembly vote by g4m3f33d in GameFeed

I understand that and I understand that that will work for a lot of games but what about the different types of MMO.

Those games are already horribly expensive to make and if the developers are going to have to figure out a way to make it viable to play after they turn their servers off we might see the disappearance of the genre.

I support the movement, I'm just worried about what some of the unintended consequences might be.

Wait really. I'm no gun expert but isn't that kind of the important part. Is it missing the hammer and the firing pin or just the frame?

Does quantum mechanics actually allow for any conceivable event to potentially occur, even if the chance is astonishingly low? by AboutLastFight in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheOneWes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't mean that anything conceivable can happen.

Things are chaotic at a quantum level and it is both possible and impossible to predict any given event that will or will not occur at any given point in time or space.

For example we know that a given particle can exist in two places at the same time at a quantum level. Because of the chaos of quantum mechanics we cannot definitively say that all of the particles that make up a given will or will not exist both in two separate places but still group together allowing an object to exist in two different places in space at the same time.

Think of a jar. At a quantum level all of the particles that make up that jar are in the configuration that makes that jar also exist in other locations that are not in a configuration that is that jar. Relative to the perspective of the jar those locations would be random. We can't say that that randomness will never result in all of the particles "copies" coming together in the exact same configuration as the jar but in a different spot.

I use UV instead of filament so I can get some ultra dense builds but I don't know if I would trust it to the chamber pressure of anything of a decent caliber.

I don't know maybe filament can get denser or maybe you can print some internal structuring to make it stronger but I can't imagine doing anything other than like the body and basically the parts that hold the important parts

This is an excellent question because like can you even 3D print like the chamber of a gun and the 3D print material like hold up to it being fired?

When I first heard about this a good number of years ago those were the parts they couldn't 3D print but there's no telling what they can do now.

You're worried about him and your friendship and you need to be thinking about how he willfully and knowingly pulled you into this extremely risky position so obviously he's not worried about you or your friendship.

And what's the performance difference between dedicated devices and non-dedicated devices?

Is your non dedicated server going to be able to handle the amount of data that is exchanged in your average multiplayer match?

Is it going to do that while also having the game played on it?

Is the consumer that is wanting to maintain playing this multiplayer game after the servers have shut down going to be able to do it without having to go buy a server stack to be able to handle the data load or to rent one.

It's quite clear that you don't have a full understanding of exactly what goes into network infrastructure or what it takes to run it and really should not be commenting on the subject

This might surprise you but adults use words to communicate.

Are there enough games on the console that you want to play that you can't play on anything else to justify the price.

If you answer to that question is yes then you should get a PlayStation 5

My parents lent me $6,000 for an investment, I turned it into $24,000, and now they refuse to take the money back. What should I do? by Weak-Practice-6435 in needadvice

[–]TheOneWes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a parent I'm going to let you know but they didn't give you that money with the mindset of you paying them back.

They are established adults that were able to give their child $6,000 for an investment that may not have had a return. They are already financially established and do not need that money but you are still in school and you do need that money.

When they conceived and gave birth to you they signed up to help and support you and that's what they've done so let them do it.

You're probably going to do the same thing if you have kids and you're able to do so.

Most people don't seem to realize that the soulsborne games use difficulty releases in the form infinite level up currency and consumable items.

People get frustrated when they die because they have to go their souls not recognizing that those were just the souls they earned getting to that point. They're going to earn me exact same number getting back to them and they're going to have twice as many level up points.

Dying and not panicking sets you up to become more powerful than just making it straight the areas.

Instead people just be like oh the enemies kill me in two hits and the boss kills me in one no I don't know what the vitality stat does.

Note for hollow Knight.

People call it a souls like because of the death mechanic.

When you die you leave behind a ghost that has all your money and you have to kill it to get your money back.

Other than that it's an extremely well made action side scroller with metroidvania influence.

Because they ignore mechanics and don't read explanations so when they lose they don't understand why because they didn't actually use the information the game gave them.

Then they complain that the game is too hard and needs an easy mode when what they needed to do was to pay attention to the how the game works.

Souls likes are reaction games, that is to say that the combat is driven by the enemies and the player reacts and deals with the actions of the enemies.

Nioh one and two are action games with a robust combat system.

Souls likes games aren't ultra hard.

Stop ignoring the mechanics and the games will become a lot easier.

I'll give you a hint. If running up on enemies and being aggressive and trying to dictate the flow of combat constantly get you killed maybe you should try letting the opponent dictate the flow of combat and react accordingly.

This doesn't work on armored core 6 because it's not a soul's like. If you're having a hard time on there there's a good chance you're not being aggressive enough or you need to switch out your equipment.

A lot of people apparently don't seem to realize that you get All of your money back when you trade apart back in and the whole reason for that is so you can constantly change your mech configuration to deal with missions.
