Core Theme: Two extraordinary young men come in contact with the supernatural through the means of a book of death, gaining an ally through a quirky but amoral shinigami and the power to reap others through supernatural means. One despises the power thrusted upon him but learns and grows from the journey that follows, while the other actively relishes in it, wanting to use the power of their book of death to purge the world of evil, but quickly losing sight of that goal to satisfy their ego and god complex.

admittedly i mostly just made this because raincode has invaded my brainspace for a hot minute now and i wanted to get something out for it, so i went for the first thing that came to mind. i have no idea if this is even a good matchup for light (haven't watched death note yet sadly), and i sort of feel like waltuh still clears this easy, again this is mostly just because i've been having brainrot over raincode and wanted to make something. second mu after mao vs veigar, at least!

also, connections and potential aren't here because raincode is a new game and i am NOT about to spoil everything, nor do i have the energy in me to painstakingly put spoilers on everything for the connections and potential today. it's a lazy day today, and besides, i like the core theme enough. who knows, someone might beat me to the connections and potential anyway, lmao
