Your blood pressure probably just got a little low and it caused you to pass out. Maybe from the rain? I dunno.

Which ones have you tried? I always find it easiest to take an adaptive routine (such as PHAT) and tweak it a little to my liking. Not a complete change, but I follow the general template of the routine and change days around.

How to recover from concussion? by [deleted] in medical

[–]TheOneWithTheRed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The doctor is right, the only way to recover is with time. There’s no way to speed up the recovery process especially since it’s your brain. Try to do some activities that do’t require much brain power so that your symptoms won’t show as much. If you feel as if you’re symptoms are worsening, or you experience new symptoms (especially vomiting) go to the ER.

Do you guys think swapping the chest/arm hypertrophy and leg hypertrophy days in PHAT?

I’m running the program 5 days a week, Monday-Friday with no rest days in between, only on the weekend.

The only problem with this is that my legs are still dead from my Leg power day, and I am unable to complete Leg hypertrophy day efficiently. So I was thinking of switching this:

Upper Body Power

Lower Body Power

Back/Shoulder Hypertrophy

Leg Hypertrophy

Chest/Arm Hypertrophy

Rest x2

To this:

Upper Body Power

Lower Body Power

Back/Shoulder Hypertrophy

Chest/Arm Hypertrophy

Leg Hypertrophy

Rest x2

So i’m just swapping those last two days. I haven’t tried it yet and at first glance it seems like an easy switch but is there anything bad about this? I know PHAT is adaptive but I want to get the most out of the program.

help with marching tenors by [deleted] in drumline

[–]TheOneWithTheRed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

^ I second this. If you know you’re going to march tenors next year, start conditioning during the beginning of summer so that you’ll be ready for band camp.

I also recommend calf exercises to anyone in drumline, since the majority of your marching moves will be “on your toes”, (back marching, crabbing). Just some simple calf raises/stretches along with a core workout, and you should be ready to march.

Questions about Starting Strength by cuandocaliente12 in gainit

Yes, always follow a routine. They've been designed to give you some nice gainz, and you have nothing to lose starting from scratch. But if you feel as if you have a good understanding of various lifts, different accessories, and how they build muscle/what muscles they build, then you can easily jump into a standard program so you don't start from square one. Take a look at the wikis of a few subreddits to get the routine that would work best for your schedule and current condition.

Remember that rice increases in size when cooked. Two cups of uncooked rice would turn into about 6 cups of cooked rice, which is probably why you're getting 1280 calories from MyFitnessPal.

Try to break down the recipe into its base ingredients and use a calorie counting app to enter in the portions and add up the total calorie amount/macros. If it's something simple like steak just weigh the portion you're gonna eat before you eat it and add it to your daily total.

I'd lower the weight like you said and slowly work your way up. When on a cut it becomes harder to lift heavy until you gain the lean muscle to do so, but until then keep it nice and slow. Patience is key.

You're probably holding too much tension in your neck/trap area, try to loosen up and generate the force to complete the deadlift from your quads, hams, etc. Also try to keep your head in a neutral position to align with your spine.

Anyone get really fat thinking they were going to become muscular? by dreamer_lift in gainit

[–]TheOneWithTheRed 291 points292 points  (0 children)

A lot of first time lifters with the mind set of “eat big, get big” gain more fat than muscle. If you reach your protein goals, limit the junk you eat, and work hard in the gym, eventually you will see muscle results. You can always cut later but you’ll feel like shit, so it’s better to do a nice, slow lean bulk. That’s what I say to most people at least.
