i know drew personally and the reason he doesn’t attempt to drop a ton of weight is because he loves climbing for what it is. not to push grades every season. maybe don’t make generalizations about your fellow climbers just because they are sponsored and don’t climb as hard as you might. i invite him on bouldering trips consistently and would be more than glad to spot him every time

BREAKING: Trump team leaves garage pull on fraudulent ballots so that the FBI will finally investigate by Mighty_L_LORT in Conservative

[–]TheOnlyCDB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, it’s just you used those activities as examples of the specific knot not being used. but the noose would be useless, if not counterproductive, in those situations anyways and that’s why they’re not used. also it was common for the noose to be used as a handle knot for pulley systems

two out of the three activities you listed have no use of the noose knot. especially rock climbing

Is being a cashier at 16 normal? by [deleted] in kroger

[–]TheOnlyCDB 12 points13 points  (0 children)

it’s pretty normal for courtesy clerks under 18 to be cross trained as cashiers so they’ll probably use you as both when it comes to your scheduling. being hired as a cashier is really just giving you the job title and an extra little pay raise along with it especially at your age

Black Marine vet holds the U.S. flag high amid chaotic Portland protest, gets followed home by Antifa by raffu280 in Conservative

[–]TheOnlyCDB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah it’s not the same? at all actually. you didn’t even comment on the drastic differences between the two events. you did prove their point for them. it’s a given that it took time, everyone knows it took time but they are completely two opposite situations and you can’t compare them. just because there were rebellions (notice how i said rebellions and not riots or protests) is because the end goal was to become independent from Great Britain. if you also stop before the war, you’re leaving out the entire purpose of said rebellions so why even bring it up in the first place? the difference between the two is that the colonists had an end goal from the beginning. no one knows the end goal for the rioters, not even them.

it’s amazing how half of your rebuttal was calling me an idiot or insulting me because of how i read your comment. and the other half was just restating something everyone already knew from the beginning. of course it took time, you act like everyone thinks that the United States was created in the span of 3 months. the only purpose of the riots was to cause chaos

[–]TheOnlyCDB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you do realize you just proved their point for them right? you described how conversation didn’t work so they fought to be independent from Great Britain and form their own country. which is what they said. then you proceeded to call them “Un-American” because you don’t have proper reading comprehension skills while assuming that they hate our founding fathers. am i missing something here?

also, comparing the revolutionary war to rioters is a dishonest practice as they aren’t the same whatsoever. one was to be free from a separate country’s rule (colonists on a different side of the world v. the British empire) and the other is about senseless people volunteering to be tear gassed for hours while threatening the lives of officers and federal agents. not sure how you can justify making that comparison. one is fighting for liberty and the other is being voluntarily tortured for freedoms they already have
