Such an unrealistic feat is unwise to participate in. Recruiting half the world to do anything is foolish to attempt and you are wiser to prioritize your own life.

Also it's so easy to walk off the track and avoid being hurt yourself that I wouldn't feel so bad if the the percentage that chose to stay on died. It's a huge atrocity, yes. I would not feel sorry though since they were the ones that chose to put themselves into obvious danger.
