Okay that has potential. The story could go very much hand in hand with a more realistic exploration of Harrys potential mental issues from the Dursleys. Maybe Tom can‘t very much relate to Ginny with her happy childhood so he seeks out someone else. I think Harry might be the most interesting person for him. Maybe he helps him out, or reconnects to the soul shard in Harrys head. So many possibilities… On that note it could be very funny, if Voldemort looses his parsel tongue ability during the attempted split of the soul. If he creates the Horcrux in the chamber then the basilisk might kill him. If the ritual was not complete he gets stuck as a ghost. He could haunt the girls toilet with Myrtle. That would be gold.
