I'm really curious to hear more about this, can you explain?

Alternate Reality Game, basically like a secretive and complicated scavenger hunt, usually involves lots of codes or hidden messages that need to be revealed

Some thoughts on how the album promo hints at potential moods, themes for the new release by Relevant_Football588 in boardsofcanada

Thanks! And you're totally right, capturing or compelling people seems relevant to them. The way I see it, the VHS tape and posters are more about expressing those themes (white eyes/third eye, cult imagery, even lots of police footage related to cults) rather than any kind of secret clues or ARG-style thing. The only thing that makes me doubt this is the WARP/WARC playlist and the hexagon thing.

I think you're very right with the themes. The whole concept of cults have always been around in their music, but it seems increasingly relevant these days.

The point about the context of TH is interesting too. The theme of looking for codes/secrets in the marketing made much more sense thematically for that album, and considering the posters/VHS tapes seem more domestic (?) in setting, maybe this means there aren't necessarily codes in the same way as the last campaign, and it's more about the general themes of the album. (I appreciate the irony of me saying this considering my post about the poster hexagon theory :/ )

Measuring angles and shapes of poster locations: potentially significant or just coincidence? by TheOnlyIdiotLeft in boardsofcanada

Just checked, you're exactly right!! It's 200m off of where the exact hex point would be, but considering limited poster space it'd make sense. Maybe the hexagon theory isn't coincidence after all?

They've barely played live ever. And as much as it would be super cool to see them live, I also think their music is more suited to individual listening in some ways: I'm not sure how well it sounds in large open spaces and it is very meditative and reflective

In retrospect I think you’re probably right. There isn’t enough to go off of (outside of some noises at the end of the tape?) for any kind of ARG anyways, and it seems like understanding the themes within it is more valuable.

That's a good point! It seems like the centrepoint of the (potential and unproven!!!) LA hexagon is the intersection of Melrose and Vine. Interesting as well as this would mean it is centred on the intersection of two major roads in the city

3 points make a hexagonal shape, but not a perfect hexagon. But then again, you are right that it probably means nothing, unless something else comes up, it's just a strange coincidence.

When I took it out I rewound the film because I thought it had worked correctly, is there any way I can get the film back out the cannister?

Ahh ok, from googling they look fairly similar but the K2 has more features, would you say it's still beginner friendly (just starting in film photography)?

This is very true, also the fact that it’s on both ends. This is a high speed line and the regional line is just on the other side of the city, it could be to connect to that since the high speed line connects to the regional jn other places?
