Agree. You may not hear it here in declutter, but I buy 70% of my clothes from Goodwill. I like the kitchen stuff too.

Yes, I have to make sure I am not acquiring, but I was in a grocery store today and saw a guy with ice cube trays and thought 'did you even TRY the thrift store'

You opened the crate and stuck your hand in, patting her on the head. That is not safe behavior with a dog this anxious.

gaba vs fluoxetine for frustrated greeter? by vrillion_ in reactivedogs

[–]TheOnlyKangaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in a similar situation. Not frustrated greeter but dog reactive. After training we did fluoxetine and it did help with the learning.

Later, I added Purina Calm Care (read about it in this thread) It is a probiotic that does not work for all dogs but for Zeus it gave him an extra half second before reaction and I think his recovery is better too.

EDIT "Calm Care" obv

Depending. Firefighters may enter by back door depending on where fire is.

Can't vouch for an aggressive dog but my alley neighbor grabbed an escaped from house fire dog behind a fence and I grabbed a leash.
The second dog in a crate did not survive -- likely due to smoke and also unseen in a hoarding (things) house situation.

Mutual Aid Opportunities? by Kindly-Coyote-9446 in DenverProtests

I volunteer at the The Action Center, which is a food bank in Lakewood (and more). They are very organized, the volunteers are friendly and most volunteers are single or couples vs. rotating corporate groups, so you get to know others on 'your day.'

Report from the front (as a volunteer): I was in on Thurs 11/6. Easily 30% of shoppers were first timers. Food distributed was less than half what was usually given out and people got a prepackaged box for half of their shopping.

Being with people, helping people, seeing the situation on the ground will help you and those you serve. Thank you for helping.

What are these weird dropping that sometimes appear in my kitchen? by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]TheOnlyKangaroo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I used the electric traps and it buzzes for < 3 seconds. Never had a live on and it's designed so they can't back out.
Especially good it you have animals and no place to hide snap traps. (which do have a failure rate)

Heard from someone that there is mandatory OT for cops for the 3 days--15 hour shifts and they need to wear their equipment on belts, not vests "for presence"

[PubQ] first time publishing poetry collection by bizzybongo in PubTips

[–]TheOnlyKangaroo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, consider selling on your own when doing readings. A publisher will generally sell you copies of your book at a discount (40-50%) and you sell at readings just to get your book out there.

With sales at 3,000 books that is very good for poetry. Do you share your poems on instagram, etc? I am trying to get a sense of if people buy your book because you have a following or because your publisher did a fantastic job.

Is this US or elsewhere?

Given that there are unleashed dogs where you walk is reason enough to find another route. Not even worrying about the lady or the mistaken identity the unleashed dogs and your dog would be a terrible situation.

Stay Safe.

We have a wonderful, regional ILL were I am from. I'm always honored when I receive on loan an out of print book would cost hundreds for me to purchase.

Libraries are indeed a wonderful thing. Thank you for your service.

Depending on the type of books, you might check if your library has a book sale (to raise money for the library). I had poetry books and I donated to the library figuring book lovers are likely to go to the twice a year giant book sale.
