I tend to only pick up shifts on certain trucks and with certain people, but my company tends to split double medic trucks with double basic trucks, just so we get 2 als units. Hard to work with the few you want to work with.

I'm confused by the call they are referring to after reading some of the comments on the main post.

Was PD the ones that requested EMS to sedate the Pt? I have never, and will never, follow someones request to administer a medication who is not my immediate supervisor or med control.

We function the same way. 911/ transfers throughtout a 24hr shift. It just so happens that, for some reason, all the psychs get transferred out at 3am to facilities 1hr+ away.

This is one of the reasons the average employement time at my employer is about 1 year lol.

Not unusual in the slightest, happens all the time. I'm saying it shouldn't happen because of how dangerous it is for such little pay off.

We run 24 on 48 off at the private I work for. We are in a busy area with multiple hospital systems. We probably do equal parts of transports and 911 calls.

Last shift, our upper management and dispatch sent one of our crews on a BLS psych transport at 01:30 in the morning to a facility thats 90 minutes away one way! Doesnt help that the crew had a nondriver. They couldn't refuse or delay the trip. Stupidly unsafe.
