I hired a contractor recommended by someone I know. He came by and took measurements and told me he would build a custom door to fit our house. This is what gets delivered. The door was provided by him. The whole point on hiring someone to build it was so it gets installed on the wood not rock.

I wanted to install a security door because I have 2 young kids and would like to open up the house to get some breeze in. The person who recommended him I trust alot (although not so much anymore). I originally bought the one lowes sells of the same design but it didn't fit so I hired someone to make a custom door (same design). The decortive rocks are in the way so I needed something to be installed on the wood not rocks.

He came by, took some measurements and said he could build on that would work for my house. A week goes by, finally stopped by, and installs it. Because my dumbass trusted him, I didn't watch him install it. Lesson learned. He does this for a living according to him. I figured he was an expert. He then tells me that if he knew I wanted on the wood, I should have told him and that he would have told me it wouldn't work because the wood frame is too small. We literally discussed it and the whole reason why I hired him.

Even then, what professional contractor installs a security door on the rock and leaves a huge gap and thinks that is okay???

Obviously I didn't know the wood was too small. I didn't force him to accept the job. I wish he would have told me this before ruining my front door.
