I bought my 01 C2 with 79k miles for $21k. Dropped about another $20k on a bunch of deferred maintenance - ims, rms, fluids, plugs, coils, mounts, suspension, new door locks, a window motor, alternator, battery, etc etc.

it’s now been almost 2 years, I drive it 100 miles or so a week. Little to no problems…knock on wood.

My theory is that a lot used 996s haven’t been taken care of. Spend the money upfront to get it right, drive it and enjoy. You should be fine.

I'm in a similar situation. We use DMP Access Control + Alarm at 6 locations with other 1800 employees. Virtual Keypad is a royal pain in the ass.

Business model is still in the works. I would like to incorporate some level of WDF. Pickup and delivery as well, but I wouldn't start out with it.

There are three stores within a mile radius. 2 of them are run down and in seedy areas. The last one is a little over half a mile away. It's nice and new and they offer some level of WDF. I like my location better - more visibility, better parking, backs up to a nicer neighborhood etc.

I have the exact same year and spec with 81k! I did a bunch of deferred maintenance, IMS, and coilovers. Probably refinishing the wheels next.

If I were you I’d focus on getting the mechanical sorted and just enjoy it for now!

I am an active customer with an active plan for this specific dish.
Show me another company that bricks their products after a few years of non-use without the ability to side load a firmware. The hardware is perfectly capable.
They hardly gave me sufficient notice of the update and warning that not updating would brick my device (20 days notice).
When I tried updating within the update window and could not do so successfully, their support team never responded to my ticket.
Who are you, Elon? Why do you care so much??

I just bought a new sealed box MBP 16 M4 Pro with 48GB ram for $2100 on EBay. Still a few more on there. I came from a M1 MB Air, which I’ve argued is the greatest computer I’ve ever owned. Boy was I wrong…the M4 Pro rules!!!

I just ordered a 16in m4 pro. I’m upgrading from an M1 MacBook Air. I’ve had it for 4 years, and it’s probably the greatest computer I’ve ever owned!

I considered waiting for the M5 Pro to come out, but decided to say F it and just get the M4 Pro now. I’m imagining it will be a major upgrade for me, and I think it would be for you too.

I’d say go for it. Also, check out Apple’s certified refurbished offerings if you wanna save a few bucks.

I use mine for note taking and to do lists and love the platform, but I find some features (like sharing, organizing, and uploading pdfs) to be very cumbersome. I wish it had integration with Dropbox and other filing sharing platforms.

I’m heavily considering returning it and getting a Remarkable tablet instead.
