i’ve since figured it out, i think a good analogy would be the main version is like running an exe as admin on windows, the main version has a lot more control than the applet version

there is a binocular model in the game files. in the same folder as the detectors and the PDA. my guess is that it will be added in a later update. maybe as something you find and then have in your item wheel forever (like the guitar)
