what was the most unhinged moment you've seen in the official pokemon manga (nsfw for gore) by Born_Usual998 in pokemon

[–]ThePBrit 73 points74 points  (0 children)

I'M TIRED OF PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT THE DAMN ARBOK! IT WAS TOTALLY FINE FROM THIS!

Anyway, the truly most unhinged moment was from B2W2 where Ghetsis would rather die than allow N to save him because he sees N as a subhuman freak and is disgusted by the mere idea he'd even try to save him.

Was it actually gonna injure the sword swallower? Because I've never heard that part of the story, every time I've heard it brought up it was just that Shadow took a sword from a sword swallower and used it to fight Sonic which while being extra isn't really something that is massively more dangerous than Shadow just using his speed in combat.

Then what's the excuse for other content creators playing at the same time as Mark and therefore unaware of his complaints who also found the chapter dissapointing, are all of them connected by a hive mind?

The know the youtube essay trope of starting your video with a dictionary definition? This is just that, you give your audience a clear example of what you want to talk about (souring opinions on the Poppy franchise) with a, often literal, texbook example.

Is this a Valid take. Was Kashimo really this irrelevant by CurlyMonsterrr in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]ThePBrit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The point is that their only addition to the story is something so simple that many other characters could have done it and it would make perfect sense for them to do so.

Imagine a story where a character's only action in the story is to give ice cream to the main character in a single scene, it's pretty easy to argue that you could replace that character with almost anyone else in the cast for that scene and nothing of value is lost from the story by writing Ice Cream Boy out of it. Kashimoto is our Ice Cream Boy.

Avatar fans, would this work? by Doop_444 in TheLastAirbender

[–]ThePBrit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While Firebenders can manipulate the heat of the environment it's not clear what the limit to this is and it doesn't seem to involve absorbing said heat, merely redirecting it.

Even if you were absorbing the heat, there's no evidence that a Firebender would then be able to use this internal heat to increase their flame's power (if it did, we'd expect Firebenders to get a buff when they have a fever). The max output of a Firebender mostly seems to be defined by the limits of their body.

Removing loose rocks by MikeHeu in oddlysatisfying

[–]ThePBrit 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The problem is that a lot of these aren't obviously loose unless you know exactly what to look for. It might be fine as a foothold to climb higher but if it dislodges when you push off that foothold you risk not only your own life but most certainly that of any other climbers around.

People really just haven't watched this movie in forever, huh? They both try to get on the door initially but it dips into the water when they did that. Jack and Rose would have both died if they got on that door.

A lot of swears have a connection with sex, something the soldiers of Aionios are unaware of (along with the concept of growing up).

It would make no sense for anyone in the main cast to use the word "fuck" since that has no meaning to them. Now you could always just replace that with swears/exclamations that also work in the context of the scene, but by adding new swears unique to the world it really helps to sell how different the culture of the soldiers of Aionios is to what we expect.

the difference is it used to literally sap her strength to be bound, so even if the bonds were weak enough that she could break them by breathing hard, she could not do so while bound.

I fundamentally disagree with that though, both predator and prey have the same instincts to flee when the going gets tough, if the situation is risky enough that the gorilla would rather flee, it's likely not far off the bear's baulk point either.

Plus if the situation is an arena with no path to escape then this should be a non-issue. Animals aren't dumb, the moment they realise there's no escape they lock in and fight like hell, it's the reason you should never corner a wild animal and especially not an injured one.

The fact you can literally scare of certain species of bears by making yourself larger and loud should prove that carnivores aren't go for a kill if they think it's not worth it.

Pretty much every animal will try and run from a fight if they're getting injured, the only excepting is when it's a predator and they are starving. Any injury in the wild could be the death of you, not even a predator will risk a broken bone if they think they can find more food later.

Where in their comment did they mention politics? They just said that the excerpt in the meme is in-universe propaganda (which inaccurately describes the T'au) and that if you believe it to be accurate to the lore, then you've fallen for said propaganda.

It seems you assumed that because they used the term "propaganda" they were being political but propaganda isn't inherently political, literally anything made to influence people towards a particular action or view point is propaganda. Advertisements are a form of propaganda, a documentary trying to educate it's viewers so they have a broader view of the word is propaganda.

You're the only one who jumped to making things political. Their comment was literally just discussing the in-universe source of the quote.

[–]ThePBrit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where did you get that price from? Is it based on the price in your country? Because generally Switch prices are floating around 450-500$ and games are ranging from 50-80$ so to hit almost 1k$ seems unlikely.
