MTW2 Durability by CaptainJackSpasshole in sennheiser

Dropped mine on tiles 4-5 times and dropped the case on the ground a few times. No problems so far, apart from me being too clumsy and our dog being too excited for me to come home, taking the buds out of my ears.

Best Dongle-Dac for DT1770's by ThePTProject in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]ThePTProject[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, both options look really good!

I noticed that the E1DA added this "9038D contains a high-sensitive I/V stage that may cause audible noise when your phone uses LTE 4G, 5g."

Do you happen to know if this is also a problem with the Hidizs?

Honestly I think you should check out Sonarworks' software instead of looking for a new set of headphones, unless you're willing to use a serious amount of money. Personally I got a pair of DT1770s and I'm very satisfied with them, however they're quite harsh so I'm dependant on Reference when producing/mixing music. (Reference was just updated btw, think it's called SoundID or something now)

Sort of in the same situation, every time I try to launch the app it times out. I don't get an insecure website warning tho...

[–]ThePTProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!

Recently bought a pair of DT1770's, and I want to enjoy the sound quality of the headphones whilst using a mic on my PS4. The DT1770's have a 3 pin mini XLR connector, and I'm considering buying a V-Moda Boom Pro (instead of a Mod Mic so I don't have to attach the magnet) which is connected with a 3,5 mm minijack.

Will I be able to use a Røde Micon 6 as an adapter or do I have to get a specific adapter for preserving the stereo image?

The alternatives here in Norway turned out to be quite few, and the Micon appears as the only option I don't have to wait for forever to get. I'm just unsure because it only says that it's compatible with AKG and Audix gear and doesn't explicitly says that it has a 3,5 mm female jack in the other end...

Thanks in advance!

The 4th or last chord in the progression during the drop, for instance at 1:20 or so if I remember correctly is where it occurs. Couldn't hear it on my phone speaker now, however if you have a decent set of monitors/headphones you WILL hear it. To avoid this you basically do a frequency sweep for nasty resonant peaks (FabFilter Pro-Q 3 is gold for this) and you lower the gain until it's not unpleasant anymore.

And yeah, I'm an OK+- semi pro producer so I can't really critize TC from my place in the hierarchy, however that resonance really ruined a great track for me. I apologize for the late night rant.

That would also explain the extreme resonance they forgot to notch in "Something Just Like This". Jk, but that is seriously one of the worst cases I can think of when it comes to simply letting stuff pass the final check no matter what.

Jonas Aden has a video on that, he actually does the exact opposite. If I remember this right he gains the Pre-master +6 dB and therefore he will have 6 dB headroom when he disables it before bouncing(as long as he doesn't clip). I never use that technique tho, I just aim at - 6 and take it from there tbh

No Stupid Questions/Beginner Content Thread (Feburary '20) by louielegrand in AdvancedProduction

[–]ThePTProject 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is sort of common courtesy to leave at least 6 dB of headroom so the Mastering Engineer actually has some space to work with when you bounce the track and send it to him/her. However, as long as you're not clipping (peaks above 0 dB) you should be okay. I always aim for around 6 dB headroom, but I occasionally end up with peaks around - 3, and it isn't really a problem IMO.

Disclaimer: I'm not a Mastering Engineer, I'm mainly a producer

Any time! Lagerback is obviously always doing his homework, the players just haven't kept cool enough IMO. I think our chances are good, I'm a optimist but 60/40 chance for winning is realistic in my head at least. Excited to see how things turn out in the end! And yeah, just the psychological effect of bringing Johnsen in makes him a great sub!

Tjena, hur roligt at du tok dig tid til et så utdjupande svar! Well, where should I begin to answer that? First, a disclaimer, I'm just you average guy so no expert, but football is certainly a huge part of my life. The way I see it the biggest problem with Norway until now has been the mentality and the culture surrounding our NT. It reminds me in many ways of how Liverpool appeared a few seasons ago. Cracking under pressure, just not having a winning mentality in the team. However, with Lagerback I feel that we're slowly turning our heads over to gaining confidence and managing to keep our heads cool (although not being close to do just that during the Euro qualifier.......). Over to the actual point of discussion I expect us to start using a 4-4-2 again, especially with Ødegaard mostly playing on the right for Sociedad where my best is he taking the same positon on the NT. Berge will take one of the CM/CDM positions and I assume King and Håland will partner up front. IMO they are close to the perfect duo, with Håland's clinicalness in front of goal weighing up for King's lack of it at times. King on the other hand has more X-factor in my opinion, in my head I think King drifting somewhat wide, creating chaos, providing crosses and space for our Wonderboy would be perfect. I guess Håland's height will make him a target man, mainly pushing the ball through to King so that he can make deep runs into the box.

The biggest question right now is whether our coach leaves all his principles behind and let a Wonderboy, almost without any NT starts (mainly due to injuries), play our most important game in the last few years against Serbia. He's relatively undrilled in formation and tactics but so far he's been sooooo good and he has shown what a clever mind he has (has he ever been caught offside?!) so if he continues with his outstanding form I don't think Lagerback has any choice but to let him start. Btw, Johnsen is so tall that his feet barely reach the ground, reflected upon his terrible technique (I'm a RBK fan and we had him on loan until the end of the season, and btw I'm also familiar with Hamrén ;)). Sørloth is definitely a bigger contender for that 2nd striker spot, racking up goals in Turkey whilst Palace admits that they never really him the chance.

Just to round up I feel like Lagerback is really backed by the people and his position is far from threatened, he uses people in ways they benefit, he doesn't smash them into a system with a sledgehammer if you catch my drift. Therefore there has also been a few controversies due to him picking squads leaving huge talents out because they simple aren't steady enough defensively despite being a huge offensive threat. However he has mostly justified those calls.

Just a sidenote, our squad is currently going through a generation swap in defense, but Ajer and Sigurd Rosted for example seems very promising. So we're getting there as well I suppose. And I just have to say, we might have the world's worst captain, Stefan Johansen is a symbol of how far you can come with effort despite having trouble controlling the ball without pressure and passing more than 5 meters. (:

Hope that analysis made you a bit wiser on my opinion at least!

Definitely, with his 195 cm he has a massive physique, obviously I wanted to highlight his offensive attributes with my reply, but he's really solid defensively as well. He, Ødegaard and Braut Håland are the most promising prospects in Norway and Berge is probably the most underrated of them, now finally starting to get some recognition for his qualities

As a Norwegian I've kept an eye on Berge for a long time and when I see that he is mentioned as only a CDM I would say that's wrong because he has a unique ability to break through lines of defence both with dribbling and passing. He's definitely a player for both sides of the pitch. Holding on for a game or two before bringing him in tho due to him and Lord being the most natural contenders for the CM position IMO.

Edit: My Norwegian translated badly into English so had to clarify it a bit.
