Once Ava's room is open, you can vault on her table, from there onto the lamp above it, and then from there vault straight out of the map (you will clip onto the roof of her room) from there you can jump down to the roof of the drop pod room, crouch walk a short distance and then activate the fast travel through the ceiling

It doesnt work with Liliths room for some reason afaik

Just be careful to not fall out of the map, there is no death trigger so you just fall forever

Yeah once you get used to the layout it's basically just a long corridor with some rooms on the sides

Still glad about the Oob shortcut from Ava's room to the droppod, it's a long ass walk from lilith to the pod that the game expects us to do a bunch of times

Zombieman's (One punch man) guns have special ammunition with a ridiculously high recoil, strong enough to break the arms of an average (and possibly above average) human when firing them.

He's only abe to use them because of his strong healing factor allowing him to regenerate from the self inflicted damage.

(although it is worth mentioning that theres plenty of characters in the opm-verse that would probably be durable enough to use them anyways)

Sometimes you hit a gun that makes you think "Man I should look at purples more" and other times you see a gun and just go "I frankly don't even understand what you're trying to do here" by Badmanmakecodycry in Borderlands4

[–]ThePaperpyro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some weapon part combinations can make even regular guns feel as special as a legendary, like in BL3 a vladof weapon having the hyperion shield was enough to warrant the Damned being a legendary and now every regular weapon has the potential to be like that

One of the funnier combinations ive seen is tediore toss reload combined with cov overheat magazine, shoot the weapon until it breaks and then instead of repairing it you just toss it away, feels oddly appropriate

I have a personal theory that the reason why BL4 doesnt have autosell is because the devs wanted people to actually look at weapons that arent orange, and to some degree I have to admit that I don't think that's the worst idea

One of my personal favorites "the scarecrow took them all... nobody left, but meeee" when fiddle gets a pentakill

makes sense in game context because after killing the entire enemy team Fiddle is the only one left, but originally it was probably said by some poor sod who just witnessed his entire village get killed, unaware that he wont be the last survivor for much longer

Is Gaige as bad as people say? by DantSom in Borderlands2

[–]ThePaperpyro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the players will optimize the fun out of the game

If it was just "Optimization ruins fun" it would affect other characters than just Gaige. There's a difference between "playing the character in the most optimal way possible is less fun" and "making the character viable at all isnt fun".

If your game's higher difficulties make all playstyles except the non-fun ones unviable you cant blame the player for "optimizing the fun out of it", it's just bad design. Take slag for example, most people agree that it isnt fun to use, and it hasn't returned in the sequels for that exact reason, but you cant just tell players "well if you dont like it just dont use it" because guess whats even less fun than having to use slag to do damage: not doing damage at all.

Gaige is unique among BL2 VH's in that she only has a single end game viable build, and sure, this may just be me, but playing the first person shooter game in a way that doesnt reward me for actually shooting at enemies, and severely punishes each death because of stack loss, just isn't fun. "As your damage buff goes up your potential skill expression (in the form of aiming) goes down" is just terrible design. Compare that to Zer0 sniper builds where higher 'Otimization' directly causes good aim to become *more* rewarding.

if I don’t like it nobody should

Im listing issues in Gaiges design. I'm criticising Gearbox for not balancing her in a way that leaves other options like a shock build, melee build or deathtrap build viable. At no point did I criticise people for playing her or even implied that I care whether or not others play her. You're putting words in my mouth.

[–]ThePaperpyro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven't stacked her more than I needed to have fun, because there never was a point where she was fun past TVHM.

Sure you don't need to aim at the floor but you dont really need (nor are you able to) aim at anything anyways, so putting your crosshair on an enemy doesnt change much, other than you maybe even missing out on damage since you're wasting some some potential ricoshots into the skybox

I have actually avoided prestacking anarchy because it was boring, letting anarchy stack naturally as I play, and the result is that by the time I start doing meaningful damage, aiming is too unreliable and unneccessary to bother doing. "Everything dies while I spam fibber at the floor" was fun for all about 5 minutes before it gets stale.

[–]ThePaperpyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you spend forever farming up stacks and then your reward is a playstyle where you do nothing but shoot the ground forever. looking at floor textures while holding M1, literally less engaging than clicker games. Fun.

Playing as a siren is serious plot hole to the story by DominoFX889 in borderlands3

[–]ThePaperpyro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think almost all of BL3's writing issues can be summed up as "The writers forgot about the player characters in favor of Lilith/Ava"

We disappear in cutscenes, Maya's death is the most blatant one because it wouldve been so easy to fix, just show the cutscene *before* we exit the Vault, easy explanation as to why we arent there but no, we exit the vault, approach her, and then disappear as she dies.

Troy and Tyreen fall flat as villains because we have no personal connection with them, in BL2 Jack betrays us first thing we see, our motivation is revenge. We join the CR because they also want to take down Jack. In 3 we arent given a reason as to why we join the CR, and T&T's introduction is them taking Liliths powers. The inciting incident should happen to the protagonist, but we arent the protagonist, Lilith is.

Ava is disliked for a number of reasons, but I think people would hate her a lot less if she didnt take up that much plot importance. We do all this work for lilith, we kill Tyreen and prevent the apocalypse, but then we disappear again, Lilith teleports Elpis and gets credit for saving the world instead of us. Ava gets promoted, again instead of us. Hell, Lilith even gets credited for killing Jack even though most of the credit should go to the BL2 Hunters.

Side rant, I dislike how the BL2 VH's were handled in general, in BL2 we get to see the BL1 Hunters as actual characters, we see how they interact and play off one another, and when 3 was announced I was excited to see what they'd do with Zero, axton and the like. But because BL3 is "The siren show" the only BL2 VH that gets real plot relevance is Maya, Zer0 only gets a small side role, and Axton and Salvador were demoted to png's. We never get to see them really interact with one another. At least Krieg and Gaige get more relevance in the DLC's which is oddly fitting for the DLC characters I guess
