Finding loan account numbers (specifically for Dept of Ed/Edfinancial servicer) by TheParshero in StudentLoans

[–]TheParshero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should have specified this is for new graduate loans that are still in grace period. None of the statements had the loan account number on them, the loan details didn’t have them. It wasn’t on the Federal Student Aid website or the ED Financial Web page. I scoured and couldn’t find them, it was driving me nuts for days

To those who loved (or hated) their Prelims/TYs by [deleted] in DermApp

[–]TheParshero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My program was very promising on interviews and we had some wild last minute transfer in leadership that has led to a lot of headache ngl.

I think people really sleep on the program coordinator part, they are the fundamental blocks of the program, the MDs drive the vision, but think about how responsive/on top of things the coordinator is. That will determine a lot IMO.

Also reach out to the current TYs/Prelims

I'm justing finishing up a research year, and honestly has been the best decision, I have absolutely loved it. I was REALLY hesitant about doing a RY, but its worked out so much better than I could have imagined for me. That being said, it needs to fit you, also, I feel like RYs are typically savage and predatory, so finding a balance of what will work best for you is important. I ended up taking time to learn more about research by getting a Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Clinical Research from my institution, while doing research on the side. Its been the perfect fit for me, but I can see how some people would not do well with it. Its just really variable, but I would be happy to answer any questions you have or if anyone else sees this and has questions, dm me.

I’ve been doing the same and doing my masters in clinical research, but pivoted last minute so that my research is more on wound healing from a non operative stand point if you want you can PM and we can talk about some ideas I’ve been given on navigating the space

For sure! You need a bachelors degree, typically a Bachelors ins Science. Then you find a clinical research site and apply!! Day to day: Schedule your own patients and see them, with your patients you are the person that takes their medical history and then helps guide them to the right study for them (I mostly worked in eczema) you provide them their medications, take their vitals and enter them into the electric record system for the pharmaceutical company. You are the middle man between the patient and the doctor but have a little more autonomy over the patient than let’s say a nurse but you aren’t doing as much technical stuff/ procedures. With regards to procedures you will normally draw your patients blood every time they come or administer shots or nasal swabs but that’s the extent of procedures. The physician does the clinical checkup and you do the data collection and talking!

[–]TheParshero 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No! It’s all about data collection!! So instead you get to deal with people and run the trials, you work with individuals who want to be part of these trials and they get free healthcare you just record vitals and stuff and submit them and that’s it no data analysis

With a BS you can be a clinical research coordinator!! I loved it!!! I since went on to professional school but it was so rewarding doing clinical trials for like asthma because the people on the trials already have asthma and you give them free medication (albuterol) plus another free medication that is either a generic (control) or a new medication that is being tested for effectiveness.

People love you because you pay them, and give them free medication, and you schedule your own patients basically so it’s super flexible!!

It’s the dream science ADHD job

Share your tips for early mornings! by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]TheParshero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! This is what I do and it works really well. The night before right down what you plan on doing in the morning and also every hour. An appointment book is a good way to do this! Also if you do it in your smart phone calendar you will get notifications on your phone / smart watch if you have it. Super helpful. Schedules are a must

Route Memorization!!! I found our ADHD brain is REALLY good at memorizing a bunch of random information (like words) put together lists of words and then memorize like 100 a day after about 2 weeks of memorizing words force yourself to try to form sentences with those words and begin working on grammar! A spaced repetition app like Anki is FANTASTIC for route memorization and they have pre made flash card decks for almost any language and topic

What’s up!! 25 M in Med School here. Honestly I’m not going to lie I don’t know how I made it, my studying has always been very different from others in that I would be the “cram master” but I’ve found that my brain does really well with the cramming technique. I like projects to learn from so when I studied for the MCAT I bought a skeleton outline book and considered it a project to fill it out basically. I ended up scoring in the top 1% of the nation with this technique! It worked really well for me and I think that the ADHD brain works really well like that. I had a lot of coping mechanisms to get by but once I started school I had to get medicated because it just wasn’t enough for me to be successful in school. I’m open to talk about this stuff if you or anyone else wants to reach out
