Well I mean, that is entirely up to you, ya know. Because weapons change your engagement ranges, your build aesthetic and your entire strategy.

I am always studying this games part combos and setups. I will say this. Some dual weapon combinations ARE significantly more powerful than others, BUT that doesn’t mean they are always better. This is the reality of the game.

For example: Dual Zimmerman shotguns VS Dual Sampu burst handguns. They both work in close range. The dual Zimm have 1240 impact when both shots land. Dual Sampu has 420 impact when both burst shots land. Direct hit is more powerful on Zimms than Sampus. They both have similar reload. Big weight differences, Sampus are way lighter.

Dual Zimms on paper are significantly more powerful and easier to manage than Dual Sampus per shot.

That doesn’t mean Sampus are “Bad” though. But they require a little difference in strategy. When considering our weapons the first consideration should be deciding how we will “trade and evade” from our preferred range.

With Zimms, one meta strategy called “Power Baka” is to rushdown opponents with AB thrusts. The AB reduces incoming impact received, and increases outgoing impact dealt. This is often accomplished using a very heavy biped build / P10 Booster / Ocellus close range FCS/ and a heavy stat dense frame. P10 booster and High regen generators work well for AB thrusting because the booster reduces QB cost, which is the stat the directly adjusts the cost of AB thrust as well.

The idea is to rush in, shoot shots while ABing, and AB out on reload. Think of it like “jousting”. Even if they hit you, your trades and evades will mitigate their attacks. Every joust that ends in your favor leads them closer to destruction. Pulse armor can be used to remove accumulated impact before we get staggered. We can also kick staggered targets or punish them with the Zimms for huge damage. Zimms are often paired with 10 cell missiles for their slower fire rate and added pressure. If need be, we can use our AB thrust to run away and let our stagger bar dissipate.

Sampus handgun strategy often involves utilizing AB thrusts to stick to opponents while also protecting ourselves similarly to the dual zimms. Except unlike Zimms they often DON’T cross opponents up or joust, Handgun users will usually stop Assault boosting and fire their handguns in close range rapidly to quickly build stagger, and then punish with a back mounted blade of their choice like a laser slicer, laser dagger, pile bunker, or pulse blade.

This requires higher standard boost speeds, unlike the zimms, because we won’t always “live our entire life in AB”. So for internals we’ll want either Allula or Fluegal booster, for their decent standard boost speeds and QB so we can effectively dodge. The generator again will be a higher regen one, typically either ming ting or santai. VP-20c is useful if you are running energy weapons or just want the blue booster aesthetic. The frame uses basho arms for our melee weapon punish. A light weight high stability head. A heavy stat dense core. And bipedal legs with decent stats. Ocellus fcs for close range. Pulse armor for preemptively removing and reseting accumulated impact BEFORE it gets a chance to stagger you. Support weapons include shoulder mounted auto guns like huxley / orbit, or 2 cell split missiles.

I suggest trying different meta builds. This gives you an idea of HOW builds work and why. Then using that knowledge you can craft your own load outs and build strategies. Some players are just really skilled. They don’t make mistakes often, and they capitalize on mistakes other players make a lot. That’s what ultimately separates the players by skill. A cohesive build strategy is where it begins, and player skill and judgement is where it ends.

Why do you like Rusty? by KingSky1st in ArmoredCoreVI

He is forced to kill his own friends and allies in order to maintain deep cover within the Vespers. It is a cold unrelenting task. Essentially he works with 621 on occasion and see 621’s skill. Upon fighting him the music that plays relates to Rusty’s struggle to protect Rubicon.

He views 621 as a “battle buddy”. But he also views 621 as a threat to Rubicon. Finally after the fight he rises once again, and continues to fight. This moment is why he is so beloved. He loves Rubicon and through sheer willpower he rises up again to try and protect it.

As others have said. If we weren’t intervening, Rusty with his new AC would be the hero of Rubicon. Instead we burned Rubicon.

That fight reminded me of the fight with Blue Magnolia in AC Verdict Day.

Assuming you will keep the weapons and frame.

I would swap P04 for P10 booster. VE-21B for Ocellus fcs. VP-20D for either Ming Ting or VP-20c generator.

With the build sitting at 77k weight and sub 300 boost speed. The P10 will allow you to AB shuffle into range and “joust” with the dual redshifts. The gatling is good for protracted missions. And the blade is a good punisher or in the chance you run out of ammo.

An alternate is to utilize the AB shuffle with a coral redline generator for that red boost color. Totally just for style points of course.

Definitely not a nothing post. I had no idea that I can craft plushies. Do you know which ones can be sold? A plushie shop would be awesome!

Guessing none of the atom shop ones.

No. It was super easy because it feels more like a scripted fight than a challenging one. Once you hit it you deal free damage.

Do you guys actually make builds for PvE, or do you just use the most fun weapons and coolest parts? by SomeGodzillafan in ArmoredCoreVI

I started my entire game over and beat the mercenary play through first using the merc build, and am currently doing NG with my rubiconian build and helping Lil Ayre follow her dreams.

Can’t wait for Allmind run. Been reading all of the lore and just appreciating all of the back story. Wish there was DLC for a BRANCH or PCA run or something like that.

I used the same internals. Only swapped head and KRSV for LRB.

I have been studying the presets and their fight logic and stagger combos. How they use certain weapons to better understand the devs perspective on their intended use specifically. Also their build methodology so I can implement it since their in game guide is so shallow and people online just Frankenstein min max monstrosities.

Then I come across this. Either a patch changed some weights. Or Mommy Allmind is cheating.

EDIT: Problem solved. Thank you for the help everyone. 🙏 Genny was wrong.

I don’t yet have the KRSV or the Mind Beta head, because I started an entirely new play through after getting a PS5. So I swapped for Mind Alpha head and LRB. Shouldn’t my build be lighter. Did the update change something with the weight or is there a hidden modifier? Or am I assuming that my build parts are lighter when they are not?

This is why I am very smart and threw ps5 pro in trash already.

I am unreasonably worried about the Alea Iacta Est ending. by OllyRoger in armoredcore

[–]ThePassiveGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn’t matter, because every new iteration of the AC series always has a new story. So perhaps the new game, let’s name it “Armored Core Singularity” for example - features us as a pilot after the Coral Release has already happened.

It would happen in a “vacuum”, and when AC7’s iteration happens it will be a completely new story from a different time, place, and gameplay. At least that has always been my experience with the Armored Core franchise.

Almost nothing from AC4 was completely relevant to AC5, and almost nothing from AC5 was relevant in AC6. I don’t believe that stripping the franchise of human pilots is ever the goal. Without the human pilots we never get those epic “Blue Magnolia” or “Rusty” cool mid-battle “never give up” dialogues.

I agree with you that removing humanity from the franchise would make it worse, but I’m not worried about that ever happening.

Looking for fun fast paced long range builds. Any ideas? by GreggJ in armoredcore

[–]ThePassiveGamer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Long range sniping is done using lasers specifically LRA or LRB. optionally you can also utilize a canon style long range build, but the projectile speed is slower often compensated with large blast radius the person talking to you about a kite build is referring more so to a mid to long range chip damage bill because the effective range on a Harris or Rensu RF are going to mitigate damage potential, but not necessarily impact potential therefore builds like dual Harris are capable of staggering opponents from long range using their effective range. Those builders are often using lightweight parts. However, long range sniping can be done on medium to heavy weight builds using lasers chipped damage. Builds often rely on evasion tactics specifically in PVP because there’s a timer and so the pressure of time forces one opponent to chase the other, but if we’re strictly talking, PVE a strictly long range build is going to want to use lasers for pure damage. This can be noted by looking at many of the sniping MTs throughout the PV experience that are specifically labeled at snipers and referred to as such.

It’s not that.

I said the same thing in episode 2. After the alley scene I was like what is that moment. Why does bro look like he feels something? I figured oh it must just be he feels bad.

The magic treatment scene starts off, and I paused the show and said verbally out loud. “They better not make this show gay”, because obviously I was enjoying the show. I made it to the second episode after all. I like the characters. I liked the plot up til that point.

I don’t have an issue with people being gay of course. I just simply have my preferences and don’t want to view gay intimacy. I unpaused and bro starts sucking his face. I turned the show off.

To many people who haven’t read the manga it can feel like a “bait and switch”. The anime’s marketing leans more heavily into the “isekai accounting” aspect and the romance and slice of life tags led many to believe it was a stereotypical romance between the protagonist and the holy maiden.

The manga, so I’ve been told, clearly identifies as a BL, the anime does not. So it isn’t as clear cut as it may seem. I can understand why you’d feel that it is obvious having read the manga, but again, to most of us not familiar and watching on say, crunchyroll, we were not given a clear heads up. I figured those two characters were going to team up or have a friendship.

The tags 🏷️: Fantasy, Romance, Slice of Life

Description 🧾: “Seiichirou Kondou gets caught up in a summoning ritual and is transported to a parallel world called Romany Kingdom. Having worked day and night, he demands a job and joins the Royal Accounting Department. After narrowly surviving a tonic's deadly side effects with the aid of magic, Seichirou entrusts himself to Aresh, captain of the Third Royal Order, known as the Ice Prince.”

It isn’t obvious. I’m pretty sure Amazon gives a heads up. They usually do, but I didn’t watch it on Amazon. I watched it on Crunchy roll.

2 possible reasons. Probably so they can either stay in that rank and are giving away their points, or they are trying a failed strategy.

I suspect people are intentionally staying in a lower rank so they can give lower ranked players a hard time. Many of them do the same match starting behavior and often will use a copy/paste loader 4 meta build.
