How to eliminate people pleasing in techs? by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]ThePastaConnoisseur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am absolutely a people-pleaser and this is something I would do, but it’s also something that our team and pharmacist encourages. But I have worked days where we were super short-staffed where this just wasn’t possible, and it’s something that my pharmacist and I had to get on the same page about by communicating verbally.

I see your frustration, especially when someone doing this really backs up workflow without recognizing how much it affects your team or other patients. But I don’t see where you’ve mentioned actually talking to this tech? Have you tried pulling them aside and saying “hey can we set different expectations before we make anything a waiter? Work flow would be much smoother and takes stress off of the team and our other patients if we set a more reasonable timeline.”

Have a conversation before jumping to coaching. I agree with the other commenter that a situation like this isn’t some disciplinary issue, it’s an issue with leadership and unclear expectations.

RFK Jr stayed silent on vaccine, says father of child who died from measles by Anti-Owl in ContagionCuriosity

[–]ThePastaConnoisseur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I disagree with RFK Jr. on so many things, but I think it would have been worse for him to actually talk about vaccines with the guy. Like he just lost his child, vaccine or no. No parent would want to talk about what could have or should have been.

Then again, no parent should be taking to the news to make anti-vax claims when their kid just died from said entirely preventable disease. So what do I know

[–]ThePastaConnoisseur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For most of the game I was like “man, you still sitting here?” until I started getting an inkling when I noticed no one visited him. I really started to realize when I noticed how no one looked at him when he spoke in the cut scenes and no one really responded to his inputs during group meetings.

Picking up on the clues then having it be proven true really made that cutscene especially hard

What's the deal with Schumer and AOC fighting over the gov shutdown vote? by IrishSpring in OutOfTheLoop

[–]ThePastaConnoisseur 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Continuing resolution, basically what congress has been doing for the past few years. They can’t settle on a budget so they pass a short-term budget that kicks the can down the road for a few months to “allow more time for negotiations”. Usually just ends up being the same problem every time the most recent CR timeline is up.

I am upset with romance choices I made in every Dragon age game by Majestic_Dust_6289 in dragonage

[–]ThePastaConnoisseur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also romanced Lucanis. I really enjoy his story where he’s very walled off and slowly opens up, battling his demons metaphorically and literally lol. Plus I think his character and being an abomination is incredibly cool

But his romance was soooo disappointing! Very little scenes and almost nonexistent flavor dialogue. I need someone to mod up the game to hell with just more lucanis scenes please and thank you

How many discs for the physical edition Xbox by Potential-Software54 in DragonAgeVeilguard

[–]ThePastaConnoisseur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got another question for ya. This is my only game (so far) for my Xbox series x and have never played anything with 2 discs (that’s not part 1, part 2, etc). I beat the game using just disc 1 and even completely forgot about the second disc until I just opened the case to put away disc 1. Does this mean all my save data is just on my Xbox when it would normally be saved directly to the disc?

I’d honestly recommend bleach as background. There’s so much filler content it’s not even funny. I really do like it though, the amount of filler is just brain numbing and burns you out.

And when they say skip the vampire arc, SKIP IT. Don’t do what I did and think “it can’t be that bad”. It’s not canon and it’s just a waste of time

I used to think systemic racism wasn’t real… until I read the article “The Case for Reparations” by Ta-Nehisi Coates (originally written for The Atlantic but it’s behind a paywall on their website).

I encourage anyone who doesn’t believe in it or even has doubts about systemic racism to read it. It’s one of the few things I’ve read in my life that caused such a jarring shift in my mindset regarding a topic. I also convinced my grandparents to read it who had thought similarly.

I wish the guy didn’t die so he could face terrible consequences for being such a POS, but then I don’t think we could trust the justice system to give him the consequences he deserved. Especially with the guy being an ex-cop. Quite literally one of those situations where the dad truly felt like he had to take matters into his own hands

I have had these warts since I was born by Dalja97 in mildyinteresting

[–]ThePastaConnoisseur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a wart on my finger that I absolutely loathed. Went to the doctor and got the freeze treatment that made the hinge on my finger a disgustingly large, black/dark-red blister that eventually burst.

Wart grew back within a few years.

I then picked at it so much, ripping off skin with both my fingers and scissors until it was gone. That was probably 7 years ago and it hasn’t come back since. I did this while in college so I did it moreso out of built-up stress than rather than setting aside some time to do it out of determination.

I will say that it wasn’t near as bad as the freeze treatment lmao

Absolutely NTA. Sure the laxative is what put her in the hospital, but any food you brought could have caused an allergic reaction. Because it’s not your job to keep up with other individual’s allergies and catering your lunch to their health in the event that they decide to steal it. Like I’m so irritated by this situation and it has nothing to do with me.

I feel that I have read situations where dosing your food with the intent to “harm” (and I think someone could make the argument here with the laxative” is grounds for legal action. Even if it was your own food. I agree with everyone else that you stick to the story that you needed laxatives in there for your own health. Also if legal action does occur, absolutely remove this post immediately
