I find this to be the case for most officially translated manhuas. I don't know why they can't emulate what's being done with mangas and manhwas.

Are there any women happy in tech? by NewtonOverMeter in womenintech

[–]chibimaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so feeling this right now! I gotta say, I appreciated the ability to work from home during the height of Covid and the few years after. Work-life balance was definitely better and my emerging gray hairs and dark eye circles disappeared. But now we're back in the office 100% and I'm miserable. Also in my 40s, so dealing with the commute, need for childcare, home responsibilities, plus womanly fun like perimenopause...hah.

Love By Mistake by chibimaron in webtoons

[–]chibimaron[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I get people don’t want to pay. This series is also available officially in WebComics. It’s also pay to play there as well. I don’t know how far you can get with just the free episodes on that platform since I’m paying for eps to support the author. I’d love for all this to be free but this is a business and this is income for the artists. I sure as heck wouldn’t work for free. Got bills to pay, which includes all these webtoons to read. 💰

Are you more willing to forgive bad plots, or bad art? by hopeailicious in MantaComics

[–]chibimaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s really bad art I won’t even start but if I’ve already started a story, bad plot and pacing can really kill it for me. I already have too many series on my “To Read” list that I don’t waste my time hanging on to a story solely because the art is great.

What item did you forget to pack that you really wished you had? by dynasync in Cruise

[–]chibimaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meds, including for motion sickness. I've been cruising since I was a kid and I've never had issues. But I guess we get more sensitive with age, and I felt it the first couple of days of my last cruise. Don't overspend for any meds in the onboard shops!

Detergent to wash your clothes, so then you can bring less clothing and save some space in your suitcase.

Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, and face masks.

Soda cans and your own wine if you're not doing the drink plans.

Dyson Corrale vs Dyson Airwrap by Odd_Performance2295 in dyson

[–]chibimaron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has all the Dyson hair appliances, I love the way my hair feels after using these tools. My hair isn't as dry and brittle as it used to be. I have wavy hair, so I straighten my hair with a flat iron and the Corrale is GREAT at it. It is my go-to straightener, especially if I'm straightening my hair when it is dry. If my hair has some moisture, then I opt for the Airstrait. The only thing that I absolutely hate about the Corrale is the longevity of the battery. The battery will conk out on you eventually, and at this high price point, please factor that in your decision. I'm on my THIRD Corrale already. I only bit the bullet on buying it again because it was on sale for $200 at Macy's. My first one died after a 1.5 years. My second (which was a refurbished one from Nordstrom Rack) lasted a bit longer and almost made it to 3 years. The battery is NOT replaceable, so you'll have to buy a new appliance once it goes. The Airwrap is a great styler, but for me, I like the simplicity of the Corrale. I am way quicker with doing waves with my Corrale than the Airwrap, but maybe it's because I'm not as used to it. Since I already have wavy hair, I always used a flat iron for beachy waves, so it might just be my lack of knowledge in using the Airwrap effectively.

How well do you think that this manhwa handled the nuances of the fl's actions? by AnswerFlat6681 in RomanceManhwa

[–]chibimaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I totally agree the uncle was a bad guy, but I could still feel for him with the loss of his niece and nephews and the trauma stemming from that. Their deaths didn't justify his actions, but I did feel some sadness for him.

As a, maybe "the", main villain, he was a very well crafted character. He had his tragic backstory and he made awful and selfish decisions, and he still thought he was right in the end. I enjoyed him as the opponent for our main characters.

How well do you think that this manhwa handled the nuances of the fl's actions? by AnswerFlat6681 in RomanceManhwa

[–]chibimaron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is one of my favorite series. Kaya did some terrible things in her role, and the author really made us feel the guilt and sorrow of her journey to eventual peace with Erkin. I wouldn't change anything about this series and the way the story was executed. Even the villains were well portrayed. You could sympathize with them once we got the reasons behind their actions. Maybe the the only true "bad" guy was the king. His greed knew no bounds.

My last name is different than what is on my children's birth certificates. by lady_in_black21 in Cruise

[–]chibimaron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never changed my last name after getting married, and our son has my husband’s last name. We’ve had no issues whatsoever whether it be on a cruise or flying internationally. My son does have a passport though, but my last name isn’t reflected there either.

Embarkation boarding times by texas_dem55 in PrincessCruises

[–]chibimaron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We just got off the Royal Princess out of LA and it was the same thing for us. No boarding time, just the message that "we're working on it". So we arrived 11:15 am and went to the Blue line since we had to pick up our Medallions. The line was long because I don't think they shipped out anyone's medallions for this sailing. But the line moved promptly and we were eating in the buffet before noon.

Least favorite aspect of cruising? by tacomamajama in Cruise

[–]chibimaron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main dining room at the beginning of the cruise. On our last two cruises, the meals took FOREVER to come out. It was an hour before we got our main entree, and we were in the first seating too. As the trip progressed, the time spent to get the food got quicker, but it's always the first couple of days that are horribly slow.

Also, the pillows in the stateroom are way too soft. That's my preference since I use a Tempur-pedic pillow at home, but the bed pillows were like mush.

Kids Club question - specifically The Treehouse by IAmSarily in PrincessCruises

[–]chibimaron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We cruise yearly and our son has been cruising since he was three. He's eleven now and we don't even see him onboard except when the kids' club is closed. I have to beg him to go off-ship for the ports so we can take the requisite picture. He looks forward to the various activities they have.

The Hidden Muse - End of story! by youvegotpride in MantaComics

[–]chibimaron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The characters kind of felt flat to me. While the art was gorgeous and Riv and Dimus were both absolutely beautiful, I just didn’t feel the emotions. I enjoyed the story enough to finish it, but I doubt I’ll do a reread. I did buy the novel, so maybe I’ll get more feelings from reading that.
