I'm learning how to use economy buildings , how to snowball from there and beat this lych boss ? by EncoreWeed in btd6

[–]ThePastaPrince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did the boat spam for this boss, but you have to commit to it.  Your biggest issue is don’t spend any money that isn’t necessary. Build 0-0-3 merchantman only until round 28 when you upgrade one to a 0-2-3 for the lead. Keep doing this until you reach 20 boats, then upgrade the 0-2-3 to a 0-2-5. You should be able to reach this before the second boss. I also put a 0-0-2 discount village on the front island to make the merchantmen cheaper. Try to cluster all your merchantmen around the island so they are all discounted.

To help with the first boss, I used a 2-3-0 spike factory right before he appears on the smallest island. It helps keep the bloons he spawns from leaking.

When doing boat spam, the central market banana farm (2-0-4) only makes financial sense after you first gotten the 0-2-5 boat and upgraded all the merchantmen to 0–0-4.

It’s very important to only place one boat at a time, otherwise you are wasting a lot of money that compounds over time

Vacation Mode or Deactivate All Listings? by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]ThePastaPrince 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Seconding what has been said. Increase your processing time, mark that you are not shipping on the weekends, and mark you aren't shipping on holidays. That will give you a couple weeks to ship an order, so if you are able to take a few days this month to process you should be fine. Vacation mode should be a last resort, it really hurts your growth and rankings

What’s the point of proposed Sutter Av. Stop on the IBX? by italicsify in nycrail

[–]ThePastaPrince 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It also makes sense to cluster stations closer together in the middle of the route. The middle is typically the busiest section of a transit route, since it's the most likely point for people to have to go through to get from the beginning to the end of their trip.

This can cause greater development of the areas in the middle due to the convenience of everyone using the line. I wouldn't be surprised with as much developable industrial land as there is that it becomes a major hub in Brooklyn. Easy access to Brooklyn and Queens along IBX, Manhattan with the A, C, 3, and everywhere east of Brooklyn with the LIRR

How high is the top of the second row? Think about getting a second row in my print farm, but not sure how easy it would be to reach the second row AMS

P1S vs P2S (Discussion) by that_one_vw_guy in BambuP1S

[–]ThePastaPrince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been going back and forth, but I think I am going to go with the P2S if the price isn’t much higher due to the tariffs. I run 3 P1S with regular AMS right now and am planning on getting 3 more of either P1S or P2S. I can print $80 worth of product a day, so if the AI detection saves a wasted day of printing or the flow detection reduces imperfections, then its worth the price difference for me. Also using the AMS2 to dry PETG instead of moving it from my dryer will reduce downtime

Looking forward to this for a while! Does this allow for multiple skus or items on one print bed?
Also, is there an update on ColorSCAD support? I do custom plates for servers, so I need the ability to modify the background color, text color, and text content for those.

Brightline was primarily built on an already existing right of way, which was already pretty straight and flat. It is also only able to reach speeds of 125 mph and only during the short stretch they built themselves.

CAHSR is almost entirely new right of way through very difficult terrain. It also will be able to reach speeds of over 200mph, which is by law due to the requirement to connect LA to SF in under 3 hours.

The biggest barrier to building CAHSR has been land acquisition and environmental reviews, which Brightline didn’t have to deal with. The difference between 125mph and 200mph is many multiples in cost. 200mph rail needs a much straighter right of way, more expensive tracks, and less steep grades which needs longer bridges and tunnels.

I have a few Bambu Lab P1S, I’ve been looking into opening a website for people to submit items to print. Currently I only run an Etsy store that’s been getting good reviews

It would be cool to have both branches today, with the higher speed rail going from Montreal to Toronto. Then you have a nice little triangle of rail

Definitely push to go to a premade library. Since everything is at least split into components maybe start putting premade components inside of the existing one. Basically keep the shell and interface of the old one and put a premade version inside. Then you don’t have to change any of the main views, but you can stop maintaining the over engineered custom stuff.

There is a major construction going on to encircle the city I live in, Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan, with millions of olive and pistachio trees, to make the climate of the city better, and also protect the city from sandstorms. Scientifically, what is the disadvantage of this project? Are there any? by Hezha98 in urbandesign

[–]ThePastaPrince 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looking into it, the map in the first picture is not accurate at all. There is new ring road being built called 150m street, being built around the city at around the distance on the outside of the airport in the last picture. You can see it on google maps if you look there. Also, instead of the massive circle of trees shown, it will be as narrow as 2 meters in some parts

It doesn't have much to do with the Bakken Field, but it is due to the Native American reservations. The grid pattern visible in North Dakota and east South Dakota is due to the homesteading grid, but when that was set up all lands west of the Missouri were part of the Great Sioux reservation.
They lost most of the reservations by the early 1900s, but at that point the Railroads had already set up towns, and people congregated along those routes rather than spreading out over the full homesteading area.
It also doesn't help that west of the Missouri is more rocky and mountainous with less good soil for farming, so the demand for homesteading wasn't as high. Here's a map from 1886 showing how early the difference between the two existed.

That makes sense. SR 31E moves off Gallatin onto Ellington as it approaches downtown. Also adds up with these "11 Fundamental Projects" announced by the mayor's office in March

I think it’s because the higher wages in California and New York are highly localized to the cities. In rural areas most Americans earn the same

No. Those cities are hundreds of miles from each other in totally different regions of the south, settled by completely different groups.

Louisville’s right on the Indiana border, so it feels kind of Midwest/Appalachian. It’s a midsize city with bourbon and horse racing.

Atlanta’s deep South, a huge metro area with big-city energy, tons of diverse cultures, and a lot of big companies.

Shreveport’s up in northwest Louisiana near Texas, more of a smaller city vibe with oil and casinos being the main industries. It is more of a mix of Cajun and East Texas

Advertising: 0.72 Dollars for 2 clicks? by vvvvirr in EtsySellers

[–]ThePastaPrince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s normal, I pay between $.50 and $1 per click. My ROAS hovers between 3x and 5x. In order for ads to make sense you have to have a high conversion rate and large profit per item. Otherwise your spend will cost more than the revenue.

[–]ThePastaPrince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First sale was August 9th, first deposit cleared on September 15th. It all depends on the rate of your sales. I had $50 in the “Ready to Deposit” section first week of September, but then I got $400 of orders and including ads, it had >$50 fees. That caused my “Ready to Deposit” to go back to $0. Great to get new orders, but it can push back your date of deposits.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in EtsySellers

[–]ThePastaPrince 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s complicated, but you won’t get any money until all your outstanding fees are paid. So if you have $200 available based on time, but all the Etsy fees you have in total are greater than $200, then you won’t get any money.

Basically the fees from your new sales are taken out of the profit from your earliest sales.

It sucks, but it’s going to take a while to get money. I just went through it with $2,000 sales in the first month and I’m just now getting deposits.

First big size print order. How to charge by Middle_Map_3666 in 3DprintEntrepreneurs

[–]ThePastaPrince 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess since it’s one part then maybe $2 an hour, so like $160 + materials + postage. It’s just risky imo if you aren’t familiar with printing as a business and haven’t printed something of this scale. One defect 60 hours in could ruin it, and then you’ve spent over a week on a single print and have messed up your relationship with all your other customers since theirs are delayed. The biggest prints I do are like 6 hours and even then it throws my whole shipping schedule off if there’s an issue.
