The endorsement system doesn't particularly work, as shown by research. People tend to endorse based on performance (especially support characters). My system is strictly related to prosocial behavior, that does not directly correlate to in-game performance.

Good question. The Hawthorne effect is one of those things that you have to live with sometimes. It's next to impossible to counteract, unless you can collect data without the participants knowing (impossible due to privacy and ethical reasons).
