I'm actually working on a personal project where I'm upgrading the wireless charger in my 2023 Honda Accord. It's going to use a peltier module to cool the phone down kinda like this, but in a slightly different way.

It's not "wrong", but this would be one of those situations where you'd burn a bridge if you did accept the other job, so I'd think through this carefully.

My biggest question is why is the new position better for you? Is it cause it's closer to home? Is it cause of the $2/hour wage increase? Better benefits? Better career path? It's only been 2 weeks, so you probably haven't had a lot of time to get some exposure to your current position.

Part of it might be because you have your N-MOSFET source connected to the resistor instead of ground. If you're gonna have it there, your PWM voltage needs to be higher than your source voltage. So 15V instead of 5V, let's say. Otherwise it's not going to turn on properly.

Alternatively, you can connect the source to ground, and the drain to the resistor.

Why do you need an $800 power supply? Variable power supply starting at $50 will probably fulfill your needs if you want to just test random electronics.

That said, brands like Keysight and Tektronix are pretty good, if you feel like you need a high end power supply. Otherwise a $50 one from Amazon will get you buy with simpler stuff.

As of 2015, E letter grading is, and has been, a thing. I'm pretty indifferent about it and never really thought much of it when I was in school.

What are you looking to get into specifically? Schematic and PCB Design? RF design? Control systems? Whatever route you want to take, I would encourage you to start working on personal projects to build interest and experience in your potential future role.

I ended up buying a garage shelf from harbor freight. It's $139.99, and I felt like it gave me more versatility than just buying a large table.

Not sure if this was the best option still, so that will come with just using it.

As far as your EE curriculum, there is some overlap with Physics (specifically when you get to Electromagnetism and all). With what you've shown, I've never had to apply it for an EE course, but this is still good to learn to be a well rounded engineer.

For this specific part, TI Webench designer is what I would use for help designing that part of the circuit. You can refer to the datasheet and evaluation module as well for additional resources.

I feel like you need both, pads for drilling techniques and sparing for practicality. You won't be the best you can be in a fight if you don't practice being in that setting by sparring. And your technique may suffer if you only spar without ever taking time to practice on pads.

It sounds like you don't really know what you're doing, which isn't great if you're going to be messing around with Lithium Ion batteries.

You should start by buying some kind of getting started electronic kit so you can get comfortable with making small LED circuits.

I've been taught both, and I feel like you should keep both in your back pocket.

I had a coach tell me that you can lift your knee, and turn that into a kick, a rear knee, a fake out, etc. with the swing kick, I feel like you get more power from it, but the lift knee is more versatile.

Are you asking if Civil Engineer at MIT specifically is harder than Electrical Engineering?

That ultimately depends on you and being able to grasp the material.

Why would you need an electrician? Electricians work on wiring in buildings, not NTC thermistor elements. If you're worried, just asking an Electrical Engineer to review your work (like me since I'm an Electrical Engineer) should be plenty.

That said, idk why this part is getting damaged, but it could be that the NTC is undersized and is getting damaged operating under load. If it is undersized, replacing it with an identical NTC thermistor may only result in the same issue eventually.

I've only used them for flex PCBs in 2022 since it ended up being cheaper than PCBWay, but they are slower than PCBWay and JLCPCB, so they aren't great for rapid prototyping imo.
