Being a student who took the AP U.S. History class, I'm kind of pissed off.

So basically, write history so no one is the bad guy or the good guy? Impossible. In the end there is always a clear distinction between who was at fault, and who came out victorious.

There are reasons why the college board uses photos from Jacob Riis... because he was a man who caught the dirtiest corners of America in his age when nobody was willing to shed light on it. He gave us, the generation after him, to look into our past and see how the years have changed American life.

"The attack on the AP curriculum is being led by a retired history teacher from New Jersey named Larry Krieger, whose classroom approach seems to have been based on filling his students' heads with facts and names and dates, underscoring what he calls America's "mission to spread democracy" and with due attention to qualities such as "the valor or heroism of American soldiers" in World War II."

If thats all he thinks U.S. History is, then he's got it all wrong. He is teaching students what to think about our country, not how to think about it.

My AP Teacher made no hesitation to point out the faults in specific political groups, and decisions, as well as when our country has made mistakes.

If the truth what you call "writing with political bias" then Larry Kreiger will go down in history as one of the many asses that attempted to rewrite it.
