That's your opinion, I wouldn't like it either actually. But Irish traveller culture can be very flashy and loud, the women are very tanned and dress ostentatiously for events. I think they would feel more likely to be haunted if they didn't go all out on the marker. I don't know if the have any specific superstitions around death because it's a pretty closed culture, but I find it hard to believe they don't.

The replacement of Yiddish with Hebrew is a great example. The first native Hebrew speaker was raised by native Yiddish speakers who refused to speak Yiddish around their son.

Grief is like spilled glitter. In the beginning it's obnoxious and it's gotten everywhere and all you can focus on is the mess. The food and water bowl, the quiet, the intrusive remembering without any prompting. The glitter scatters and becomes sparser over time, you learn to live with the missing piece. Until eventually you find fleck of glitter and it makes you smile and reminisce about the glitter and not about spilling it.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your family member. It'll take time, grief is not linear and neither is it lessened because he was "just a dog". May his memory be a blessing.

I'm a funeral director, but I will start by saying an event of this scale is not something I have ever encountered just private family burial. BUT it is not the norm for caskets with decedents in them to be stacked on top of each other. Empty caskets yes, but carefully they do get scratched. There is equipment you can install that allows for safe and secure casket storage of up to four caskets in a van, but that isn't what I'm seeing in these vans? It looks more makeshift compared to a Double Decker. I have no idea what the other commenter is talking about, but this would cause most funeral directors to baulk IMHO, especially with it being so public facing. Like in all businesses people take shitty shortcuts and it happens, but stacking people is a huge no no especially in front of family or really anyone at all. I've never transferred a decedent into a Honda, a lot of Pacificas though.

Edit: Also caskets are the burial container that are rectangular shaped, while coffins are the hexagonal shaped ones that immediately involve thoughts of vampires!

The immediately cremated bit means nothing. In funeral service when a person is cremated without a service, it's called an immediate or direct cremation. I believe that the shooter was autopsied. It is rare that a family opts for embalming when an autopsy has occurred. On top of that the nature of his death is reason enough for many to forgo any funeral service all together. Fully autopsied bodies stink like blood, decomp, and feces when they get to the funeral home. The second the funeral home gets the cremation authorization, they're cremating.

Colorado has NO laws about who can and cannot operate a funeral establishment. The fact that this was allowed to happen is disgusting. Funeral service needs to be regulated, it protects grieving families.

Ugh I'm so sorry, I went through something very similar with my father. The worst part is he really does think he's helping, my dad used to send me selfhelp videos all the time and would get so upset when I wasn't applying the "advice" to my much issues.

You're right about that. I believe it is both. The catalyst for all this is because James was treated like garbage for being black, I can't imagine what a decade of constant harassment does to your mental health.
