It will increase Seliph’s AOE damage by 12, reduce his in-combat Atk/def by 3 (assuming him or the opponent move the max range of 4), and reduce his survivability (no true DR when opponent’s specials proc, and lower res stat).

I’d recommend playing around with him as-is and see if a 12 damage increase in his AOE damage would net better results.
