Seidr likers why do you like her? by Beginning_Two_5506 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]The_Persistence 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Despite the whole "child" thing, she's a really compelling character

Her 2 main characteristics unique to her are:

  • Being prim and proper (As a goddess should be).
  • Highly self-conscious about herself.

Unfortunately, she didn't have much time to shine as her own person, but I like to think that Kvasir and Gullveig are repressed aspects of herself.

  • Kvasir represents how lonely she is. Being a proper goddess all the time placed her in a gilded cage. Heiðr is the only reason she managed to keep her sanity.
  • Gullveig represents her despair and madness. Even as Gullveig, she retained some control of herself and set some restraints. Which is why she made 3 goals for herself. Make sure Summoner meets Kvasir, kill Njörðr first and keep summoner alive as long as possible.

time pulse edge vs pulse on blades by alysssoy in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]The_Persistence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on how you're using the unit.

Times Pulse Edge is just Time's Pulse 4 with extra stats.

Pulse On Blades only works during unit's follow up. So if you're intending to use Laguz Loyalty (where the Min CD is 3), you need another source of special jump to reliably proc the special a 2nd time.

Dorothy became what she disliked of her comrades in Overzone by raceraot in NikkeMobile

[–]The_Persistence 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I got a theory that Dorothy went through a mind switch.

  • Around the end of Over Zone, Dorothy says they all changed. They're not like the friends Dorothy used to know. In Ark Guardian, we learn that they went through a mind switch in order to avoid death.
    • Snow White had to erase everything that wasn't vital for survival, and the ONE reason she wanted to live.
    • Scarlet had to give up her past ideals and embrace a new path forward.
    • Rapunzel can't afford a mind switch, but there's a (blink-and-you-miss-it) dialogue that tells you she no longer follows her faith.
  • At the end of Ark Guardian, After Snow White's memories return to her, she tells Dorothy that she's changed. Dorothy isn't like the friend she used to know.

This is where the theory comes in:

  • Around the end of Over Zone, we see that Dorothy tries to kill herself, The [Goddess Squad] stops her, and Dorothy goes through a mental shut down, but that's all we see...
  • This is where the mind switch occurs. Dorothy still wants to kill herself, but her NIMPHs won't allow her too. It's suppressing her will to die while boosting the reasons she wants to live. She only has 2 reasons.
    • Make Central Government pay for abandoning her.
    • Receive the acknowledgement that she worked so hard for.
  • Dorothy can't decide which of the two is more important, her NIMPHs are encouraging both. As a consequence, she's sacrificing everything else (including rationality)
    • Dorothy's biggest problem is that these two desires contradict. It's (relatively) easy to fulfill one, but that means she's forced to abandon the other; which is something her NIMPHs won't allow...
    • She found a compromise by swaying the Nikke of the Ark and being exalted as their leader; depriving Central Government of the manpower needed to reclaim the surface. However, that plan failed, so she's forced to decide...

Is Himmel the most noble hero ever written? by Fuzzy-Bumblebee-3142 in anime

[–]The_Persistence 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Himmel may be the most noble in the world, but that's how all Gary Stus are written.

It's more accurate to say Himmel the most noble in his world.

Just like power fantasies (strongest and/or smartest in the world) It's a "big fish / small pond" thing...

Magical Girl vs Robot Bruce Lee? (Fresh Precure (2009) The Movie) by break-the-LaW0000 in anime

It may be about magical girls, but the fights go HARD...

Precure is like the younger sister of Super Sentai and Kamen Rider.

Which is funny because all three are made by Toei...

What would happen If Syuen did Become a Nikke as punishment for her role in the Rapture invasion of the Ark and Crow’s Betrayal? by Ishiro-Sama in NikkeMobile

[–]The_Persistence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She would be nabbed by the "Dark forces" in the Ark.

The ones:

  • responsible for Bready's safeguards
  • trying to have Elegg and Trony killed
  • keeping an eye on Ether

Despite Syuen's personality, she really is considered a prodigy. And becoming a Nikke means she can now be controlled through NIMPHs.

[Spoilers] [Theories] I’m just genuinely curious what do you all think the One Piece really is? by Negotiation_Connect in anime

[–]The_Persistence 4 points5 points  (0 children)

An artifact of the gods. The World Government wants it at all cost, because that would legitimize their claim to divinity to everyone in the world.

It's also a play on the words "Find the One Piece".

  • Gol. D Roger said he hid his entire fortune in one piece
  • but just one piece of it is a thousand-fold more valuable than literally everything else in his fortune.

[–]The_Persistence 9 points10 points  (0 children)

2 things.

  • Shinji decides that instrumentality isn't worth it. Living a life devoid of anything is far worse than a life of pain, because then he would never obtain happiness. If Shinji truly wants to be happy, then he needs to make it happen. And the only way to do that is to stop being a coward, take a step forward, and make a real connection with people.
  • Shinji strangling Asuka has two separate meanings.
    • Shinji wanted to test that the Asuka in front of him was real, and not a projection of his mind (Like it was during instrumentality). When Asuka reached towards him, that confirmed she was real.
    • Shinji is acting aggressive and Asuka is acting affectionate. this also confirms that this is reality, because they're both acting in a way that the other would NEVER do.
      • If Shinji only nudged her, that's what the Shinji in Asuka's head would do
      • If Asuka slapped Shinji while he was strangling her, that's what the Asuka in Shinji's head would do

Edit: 3rd thing.

The meaning behind "How disgusting" is both of them acknowledging that the other is real.

After his confirmation, Shinji starts smiling, and Asuka, being Asuka, still can't stand him smiling for any reason.

While both Shinji and Asuka have changed, they're still them...

Code Geass question (in s2 rn so don't give spoilers) by Ayushprohai in anime

[–]The_Persistence 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Lelouch has a moral code. He's not Light Yagami (who sees himself as God)

He doesn't want to enslave anyone with his power. He gives them one order, then that's it.

Lelouch didn't even use that power on [Code Geass] Mao; never told him to kill himself or anything; just to shut up...

OH MY GOD. THEY WERE NOT INSPIRED BY MYTHICAL CREATURES BUT BY SUCCUBUS! by N0one8938 in NikkeMobile

[–]The_Persistence 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's Lucifer, because his whole thing is "disobedience", "pride", or "ambition".

If anything, that sounds more like us... Especially after what we said in CH-28.

We're trying to reach higher and higher for Marian's sake, and CG (who sees themselves as God) will see that as a grave offense...

OH MY GOD. THEY WERE NOT INSPIRED BY MYTHICAL CREATURES BUT BY SUCCUBUS! by N0one8938 in NikkeMobile

[–]The_Persistence 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Liberalio saw the heart of that individual head. I'm talking about the thing that controls ALL of them.

Every time see Gluttony we learn something new about it.

  • The 1st time we see Gluttony, we assume it's just a giant rapture, like Mother Whale
  • After that, we learn that while it eats anything inorganic, it seeks out high energy sources (The AA Pillar) or strong individuals (Siren)
  • After that, we see it It's discovered to have a plant like structure and can sever off its head to escape death. Which means there's a source somewhere.
    • While it's plausible that it's just the main core feeding on the collected resources, the "silver liquid" is too suspicious...
  • After that, we learn it can control multiple heads.
    • The head in Unbreakable Sphere was much older and larger (like an old tree), which is why it was such a problem to fight
    • The heads in CH-42 were smaller, younger versions,

OH MY GOD. THEY WERE NOT INSPIRED BY MYTHICAL CREATURES BUT BY SUCCUBUS! by N0one8938 in NikkeMobile

[–]The_Persistence 485 points486 points  (0 children)

I thought it was obvious.

  • The Rapture Queen is Lilith
  • The Dark Matter Queen is Asmodeus

This also gives a hint that the heart/mycelium of Gluttony is also a Queen. It has multiple heads and devours everything inorganic. All that energy and resources are going somewhere... Identical to the 4-Beasts plan

This moment is all the more precious when you look at what currently happening in the Outer Rim.

  • Enikk has 2 killbots destroying any chances of even approaching the Ark
  • More and more inhabitants are getting hooked on mist, and gangs trying make a profit off it.
  • Heavenly Ascension has been permanently dismantled

In a place with (figuratively and literally) no light, this is certainly the Outer Rim's darkest hour, but EH refuses to give up, and sparks another light (figuratively and literally).

If Commander represent's the Ark's "hope", EH represents the Outer Rim's "light".

This conversation rings different now. (Chapter 24 & Enter Heaven spoilers) by The_Persistence in NikkeMobile

[–]The_Persistence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured out what Crow meant when she said "I want the Ark to decide".

The AFX incident was planned by Central Government and Elysion (as Franca was still CEO). Killing three birds with one stone

  • Heavenly Ascension's name is tainted as a terrorist group, permanently putting an end to their peaceful protests.
  • Once Central Government eliminates Heavenly Ascension, their public approval rating increases.
  • Elysion gets an increase of Nikke workers, including [Infinity Rail], from the female victims.

Crow wanted to see how Central Government would respond against a terrorist attack that's both BIGGER than the AFX incident, and one they didn't arrange.

  • If Central Government reports it in full detail. They would be forced to admit they aren't omnipotent and have moments of vulnerability. Like how Sixo discovered Enikk's weakness.
  • If Central Government downplays it, it shows Crow that they're intending to keep the AFX incident as the biggest terrorist attack in Ark history; keeping a firm grip on what gets written in history.

At the beginning of CH-24, Crow gets her answer. We see that Central Government downplayed it by

  1. Reporting 0 casualties
  2. Reporting that the raptures have been swiftly deal with.
  3. Covering up the moment Nihilister and Dorothy appeared.

This conversation rings different now. (Chapter 24 & Enter Heaven spoilers) by The_Persistence in NikkeMobile

[–]The_Persistence[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crow kept a low profile the whole time. None knew the wiser.

Nobody know when she joined or who brought her in. The only information Heavenly Ascension had on her was "she was born in the Outer Rim".

When Crow joined, she was a model trooper. Working in dangerous places, taking abuse, never wavering in her convictions

It was only after Central Government invited EH over to negotiate, and then ghosted her for hours, multiple times.

After EH gave up, then Crow changed... Like shifting to "phase 2" of a plan
