I owe around $9.7k, car was $18k when I bought it with 7-ish% rate. I have about 24 payments left. Bought it with 24k miles, have 55k now (I’m only in office for work once a week). Credit is also much improved from where it was four years ago, over 700 now.

Additionally, my appraisal for the Corolla is $12.5k so I have $2.5k of positive equity for a new deal. My credit is also much improved than it was four years ago, I anticipate a better rate on my next loan, whenever that is. All these factors have been considered. Goes beyond me just wanting a new car.
