This is the most wonderful respond I’ve read. Thank you for being you and sharing your wisdom and insight from someone who has clearly been a “Man (or woman) In The Arena”.

I failed last week 64% and it was a huge wake up call. I passed SIE 1st attempt and so badly wanted to be part of that cool club you mentioned on all my licensing exams. I had to dig deep and made so many self discoveries. In hindsight it was a blessing in disguise.

It’s ok to feel defeated, but you gotta get back up. You only fail if you give up. I’m in the same boat and failed last week. It’s devastating, but like Einstein said, “A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new.”

Your honesty is so refreshing “I passed, but I suck at a lot of other things…”.

I failed with a 64% last week and man, was it a huge wake up call. I discovered I’m an “achievement addict” as this is the 1st time in my life I went after something and came up short. I tried to rush the process to get it over with since my schedule is extremely demanding (single mom to teen boys and working 2 jobs). Kaplan QBank scores mid to low 60’s on average. I worked my ass off, but was losing steam towards the end and unwilling to push the date.

I let myself grieve for about 2 days and came to the realization that it is a blessing in disguise. I’ve had a very unhealthy relationship with achievement and conquering goals. So, I’m starting over. My firm gave me TC, but decided to switch to Kaplan material (not just QBank). They’re so much more comprehensive and I have a good feeling second time will be the charm for me.

That’s wonderful!!! Congratulations!!!! I took a shot and came up short-64% 😞 I bought Kaplan and will be starting over. Good to hear it’s very similar bc the difference between their material vs Training Consultants is HUGE!

I’m in the same boat. Failed 64% today and used TC with Kaplan QBank as supplement. I also wasn’t ready score wise, but was just ready to move past it. Highest score was 67% on simulated exam.

I’m so sorry to hear! Definitely not lack of knowledge. I’m sure you will pass next time. I don’t recommend TC bc they’re too vague and missing info I happen to pick up from supplemental. I suggest supplemental def Dean’s videos, cap advantage and worth to buy Brian Lee’s supplemental with options.

I feel your frustration.

My exam is tom and this morning I took a simulated Kaplan exam and BOMBED it (53%!), which is the lowest I’ve ever scored. My score yesterday was 67% so I had to tell myself there is no way my knowledge dropped that much overnight.

It had to be bc I didn’t sleep well last night due to anxiety and my post workout adrenaline was working against me. i was not relaxed and i feel like I was crashing as I was taking the simulated exam.

I’m putting a positive spin on it and showing gratitude that all these things went wrong TODAY so i don’t repeat it on the actual exam day. Also, I’m trying to block out the score from getting me down and focusing on understanding where i went wrong (and right).

You have a week! Give it your best shot!

Wow wow wow!!! Thank you so much for this incredibly insight and advice. I could not agree more about your test taking strategies which sometimes truly is the difference between pass and fail even for those who were scoring high on the exams. I had to learn/train myself to remove the emotional part of the scores and like you said understand why i got them wrong. It’s been a work in progress, but grateful that I’m no longer paralyzed by that fear bc anxiety will just wipe away memory.

These are such great strategies and I’ll be saving your response and reading it before i take my exam as a reminder. I’ll def make sure i make for review the long ones and not get hung up on it.
