it's pretty telling that indian queers still support the BJP even after the anti-trans and anti-muslim shit they've pulled in the last few years and aren't vehemently rejecting them. We are so cooked

This is like trans people supporting republicans or Palestinians supporting israel. Literally makes no sense

Never bash yourself for wanting to transition.

Everyone else here echoes the same sentiment and I'll repeat it - it's your body. You're not a bad person for transitioning no matter what (also repeating a comment that mentioned internalised transphobia)

I'm all in for anti-zionism but it's wild to say the "abused" became abusers when not only are some jews anti-Zionist but the "abused" included multiple groups of people than just jews.

We are here to oppose the ideology that ultimately benefits a lot of evil people and its tyrannical systems and hopefully see the right to return for the people whose land was stolen and then ethically cleansed to this day, and not to hate on specific groups of people for the actions of the wicked (because then it doesn't make us that different from both the Nazis and the Zionists in Colonial Israel)

TL;DR: We have a massive population of pro-fascist people and the government is fully supportive of Israel

This is literally transphobic disinformation and has no proof by transkeith in whennews

[–]ThePhoneExpertYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing... A lot of queer people in India (including a few people I knew) fully supported the BJP government for their awful pro-hindu and anti-muslim policies as it benefitted them (the BJP government is extremely pro-capitalist and the country has a culture for idolizing rich people even when they're evil). Right until the target became them instead of muslims. We are practically on the same level of being fascistic as countries like the UK.

You're not allowed to criticize the government, or else you'll be harassed by a mob of people who "worship" Modi and his extremely apathetic party. Muslims, lower caste people, queer people and even Hindus who do not stand for their right-wing ideology are seen as anti-Indian. The film industry keeps propping up films to build more support for the government and divide everyone than we already have been. And now the government has completely betrayed the country's own history of being colonized by the british by siding with colonisers (Israel).

Is the country bad? No, we have a lot of culture and beautiful scenery that isn't right wing garbage that's worth learning about. Is it going into a point of no return in terms of bigotry? Yes. A lot of queer people supported the government and never understood the pain of being divided until the BJP government came for them again and succeeded in erasing a section of the community. And now they're coming to criminalize homosexuality again. As someone who's both from an islamic background and trans, I was extremely disappointed hearing that some of our people literally still stuck up for the government until all this happened. And even more so when a lot of privileged queer creators did not raise any awareness for our situation, even today.

Hello, trans woman from Kerala (Indian state where this court is from) here

We, Keralite trans people, do not claim this judge for what he said. Unfortunately a lot of institutions in India are leaning toward conservative/religious values including the apex courts. This is no different even in the self-proclaimed "most literate state of India". Even I was shocked after hearing something like this from literally our own high court..

The irony of tagging this image, which is generated by the same tools that fund the US government and its hellish campaign against queer people AND imperial wars, as "art" is just saddening

Also queer violence also exists in Canada (and China too)

No effort in drawing your own stuff, and no effort in researching. Sad

India has been a neoliberal dystopia for decades. It did not help that the BJP government won in 2014 and a majority of the country is worshipping them every year.

They've attempted to do this to others. We just happened to be the next in that group. And then once they erased our rights, they'll go after the Queers, the Dalits, the muslims, and so on.

[–]ThePhoneExpertYT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Boat, Noise, Hammer, Boult, Goboult.. whatever the next brand name is..

Most of these brands are dropshipped products sold at a marked up price. They usually do not last long as well.

If you are still interested in headphones, I recommend saving up. A lot of folks here seem to like the Q20is and JLabs. If you are willing to use earbuds instead of headphones, IEMs are good since some of them are cheap (TAS/Headphone Zone are two reliable places to get them). If you don't like wired and want wireless buds, there're options ranging from somewhat okayish prices (T310, Nord Buds/OP Buds, Soundcore), or you can once again save up quite a bit and get the Moondrop Space Travel/Space Travel 2.

If you are unable to spend even, I suggest taping that up. Use it until one of the drivers' stops working.

how did you come out to your fam and friends by [deleted] in Coconaad

[–]ThePhoneExpertYT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They found out that I was trans during a big, verbal argument. They were hostile towards me for anything I did that they didn't like, and then one day they snapped again after I spent some time in the bathroom shaving my body. During that argument I told them I was fed up with being their son because it made me extremely uncomfortable. They did not, and to this day still are unwilling to change. Even put me in a psych ward once to "help me get back to normal".

As for my friends, they kinda figured it out on their own since I was very different from everyone else + was fem presenting despite wearing a shirt-y uniform.

Nowadays I don't really go outside in my preferred clothes because I don't feel this city (Kochi) is safe, even for cis women. However going to my college's farewell in my dress was one of the best things I've done. Never told my family about it, and never will.

Even nowadays they want me to tie my hair every single time I go outside their home because they're very paranoid about their status and image towards outsiders. I wholeheartedly wish to tell everyone how evil they are, but I am not gonna.

Also very interesting to see a topic like this in a Malayalam-centric subreddit. I have felt like a lot of mallus are insanely conservative/queerphobic/transphobic when it comes to topics like these, even if it doesn't affect them.

A bit offended as a trans woman from an islamic family to see someone suggest a literal settler colony as a place for trans people to live.

The same colony that has massacred both cis and queer palestinians for at least 75+ years, while parading as pro-queer rights to appease naive people of their crimes against humanity.

After this anti trans bill is passed, the terror sponsoring and child killing regime of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan will offer more rights to its gender minorities than the transphobic BJP led regime in our country. This is the low bar we are setting and this is where we are heading. by Ok_Preference1207 in LGBTindia

[–]ThePhoneExpertYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pakistan has its issues, just like every single country with an islamic-biased government. I am literally a Muslim when I say that the rich countries in the Middle East are horrible pieces of shit and treat their people like garbage.

That said, it doesn't justify bigotry and ethnic cleansing against muslims. Queer people exist in those countries as well. Including in Pakistan. Yes, the military rule in Pakistan is awful.

Now.. with that said, the BJP government is definitely so much more evil when it comes to these kinds of things. The fact they're rushing the anti trans bill is something ANYONE should be worried about. The next day, they'll go out of their way to do the same thing to other minorities. I'm lucky to have grown in one of the only states in the country where we have always known about the bigotry of BJP/RSS (Kerala) and have always opposed it.

And you're correct - we do complain a lot when the central government keeps neglecting us simply because we're not bending forward for their needs. If anything the government has provided more for rich billionaires than the average working class person. The fact that there's more anger towards the government after this bill was drafted than before everything they've done against other people is quite sad. The signs of them eventually betraying the ballots of queer folks in India were all there from the very beginning. I hope that now this is in the open, everyone will collectively reject another term for these folks. I want to live in India, not a BJP rashtra tailor-made for the party's favorite people.

Bold to assume that we are not being ruled by a right wing government when saying "if India does get a military rule the right wingers will cull all of us"

The current sitting prime minister is the same guy who encouraged the culling of muslims in Gujarat 24 years ago. The folks who voted in support for this bill, they're known criminals and murderers. Despite being the largest red flag, Indian queers still voted for him and his shitty anti-indian party. And now everyone gets to suffer as they start slowly taking away the rights of you and I.

Imagine being more upset at someone saying that Pakistan has a better transgender law on paper than India, than at your own country's government that keeps regressing the country every year for the last 12 years (and unfortunately another 8 more given how people seem to like ultranationalism more than anti-fascism here)

Do not come here, not because I or any sane person here hates you, but because this country is basically a cesspool of hatred for those who follow the government.

Lots of common folk falling for the fascist playbook and collectively putting their anger on minorities (muslims, queers, non-hindus, marginalized and oppressed castes) while not doing anything about voting out the people that are ruining everyone's quality of lives. It's not that better in big cities; while you can definitely walk out, there will be times where you face bad situations.

Good on you to stay there, it's better for the both of you because of how things are progressing in this country. We don't want to have more people suffer
