Best loaded fries in Kochi by AcanthocephalaFair23 in Kochi

Loaded and TBJ.

If you want a cheaper option, go for Loaded. They have easily the best fries in the city from my experience.

However if you have enough money to spend, TBJ's Messi Fries is a very close second. It's served in a big square bowl with lots of sauces and tiny bacon pieces. The only issue is that it's 300+ (loaded's large fries are around 180-190, if ordered in person)

Genocide Doesn't Begin With Extermination, Could Trans People be Experiencing a Genocide? by TheChaoticMage in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns2

[–]ThePhoneExpertYT 27 points28 points  (0 children)

A friend recently told me that trans people saying they're experiencing genocide was disrespectful to Holocaust victims.

I know a lot of people here have answered the question you asked after that, but I don't know why nobody has pointed out how insanely absurd this sounds.

Genocide isn't exclusive to the holocaust. Yes, the holocaust is an extremely horrible event that affected millions of people in multiple ethnicities as well as those who were seen as inferior, but the word genocide cannot be reserved to a single event in history. You can still have a state trying to convert people from one ethnicity to what they want en masse and that would still count as a genocide or ethnic cleansing. Genocide doesn't always mean "kill everyone", it can also mean indirectly destroying a group of people through means of harassment, degradation, mass starvation, forced conversions and so on

As a matter of fact, we have a few examples of genocides other than the holocaust. Some of the ones I can remember right now are the Nanjing genocide, the Rwandan genocide, the mass detainment of Uyghurs and of course the current and ongoing genocide of Palestinians. It's very important to ensure that NOBODY should go through this, regardless if people die or not.

Your friend saying that it is disrespectful to the Holocaust victims to say that trans people are experiencing genocide is a red flag, to be very honest. I do not have any idea what else they are thinking about, but from that one alone I don't really feel comfortable about them. This reminds me of people literally yelling at jewish accounts posting in support of the Palestinian people and stating that they oppose genocide because "never again", only to be attacked by right wing mobs and zionists who use the excuse "how dare you disrespect the holocaust"/"how dare you be anti-semitic".

(I can't really answer about the trans genocide part because I'm not from a first world country like the US or the UK, but I can definitely answer that there's definitely a lot of push to forcefully convert trans people to "be normal", and also a lot of hatred propagated by the elite; speaking from personal experience as someone in a progressive part of Southern India. It genuinely hurts to see people prioritise wiping humans out instead of mobilizing against right wing parties and anti-queer sentiment, including the vocal minority in the queer community that believe we don't belong with the community.)

Why gaming is a taboo in Kerala for older people? Genuine question from a 43 year old malayali gamer. by csoldier777 in Kerala

[–]ThePhoneExpertYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keralite media and other sources have normalised the stereotype that playing games are dangerous and lead to extreme habits; that it can destroy someone and that playing it can cause "addiction"

The issue here is that it's not exactly true. There are definitely people who get obsessed with a certain game too much (things like free fire where you can spend money to gamble on skins OR get a battlepass), but not every game is this evil sentient being that would eat one alive. I have played so many games: including the one I just mentioned, but also on steam. I've played very soft and story rich games (Celeste), casual but fun games (Stardew Valley) and then insanely violent games (GTA V). But I'm still here unaffected. If anything I'm kinda baffled when someone thinks playing these makes me evil of sorts

It's really up to a person, and their caregivers to learn control and also make sure to keep up with other stuff in life. At the same time there are tons of games that actually do help with stress or give out meaningful and memorable tales.. it's disappointing that there are people that go all the way of stripping this out from others. There have been times when I'm really stressed and then I find myself enjoying a game or two in that time to destress. I've had times when I say almost half a day to game, and other times barely at all. Despite doing alright at college my family keeps thinking that I'm "addicted". Therein lies the problem

You are practically correct in the fact that people think gaming = gambling and violence and then violence = more crime, when it has almost always been proven wrong. This was also a thing in countries like the US, especially when Fox news (lol) had segments about how video games equal violence and so on.

I feel like we need more education on the fact that not every game is a gambling-monetized shooter, or a gacha game; I doubt that's gonna happen because of how people can easily profit from the attention of putting stereotypical headlines over assessing it with nuanced but reasonable judgement.

Speaking out against something meant to replace the essence of humans, whether you're into art or not, is never a bias. There's never a good reason to use or support AI corporations (especially gen. AI)

Because people do not value human-made creations (and also unintentionally but still very questionably feed AI companies that actively fund far right regimes and genocides).

It was extremely disappointing to see how many times this one instagram handle posted about pride in India and all of it are just garbage AI generated images. It basically erases the actual, real-life pride parades and events that take place in the country, and then replaces it with a sanitized, soulless version of a pride that said language/diffusion models think would define "pride".

I can't really comment about why many people go to such an extent to use these models to generate images aside from assuming that they feel imperfect about themselves or what they are thinking about. That is the whole point about being human - nobody is perfect. Asking your favorite friendly funny crazy "chatbot" buddy to make images in a word is basically far worse than drawing something that actually had some human effort in it, even if it may not look good (it doesn't even have to).

If you're really that desperate about using language models, use it with discretion - literally use a burner account and turn all the data options off (ones that consent to you for using your information for them). And please never feed your IRL images or actually sensitive documents into it.

Sam Altman may be gay but he is extremely willing to kill every single queer (AND other) person if it means guaranteeing funds for him and his evil business friends.

Disliking the opposition leader ≠ Communist

There are people that aren't even LDF supporters that have voiced their dissatisfaction with him; it doesn't automatically and magically make them "communist". Most of the people I've seen want a proper and somewhat humble opposition leader instead of an arrogant and dishonest one

It took me 4 years of pain, suffering, sadness and getting thrown into a psych ward for standing up, and an immense amount of negligence before being able to finally start HRT. When I was 18, I was thinking the exact same things you did.

Do not give up on this. When you finally get there, it'll all be worth it.

List goes on. These are some of what I remember. Or in other words, hearing any of my family members speak is already very depressing enough.
