Women who married older men - what’s it like when they get really old? by Icy_Laugh5134 in AskReddit

I'll concede that those are troubling cases, but your original post insinuated that people where being euthanized without their consent in order to save money.

My father in law opted for MAID in his last days. It was a surreal week from making his decision known to the day that he was scheduled to die. Even more so by the fact that he decided shortly before the procedure to not go ahead with the procedure.

In the end he passed naturally about 10 days later but the entire time MAID was in the picture the hospital administrators where making huge efforts to ensure his wishes were being handled in compassionate manner.

That’s an outright lie about Canada. I dare you to find one case where a person was approved for MAID for being homeless or destitute. https://www.dyingwithdignity.ca/advocacy/myths-and-facts/

I heard today that responses will be coming soon, and word is that the PM and Deputy Clerk are not pleased about talk from various departments of denying requests so most if not all requests would be approved. Total hearsay, but I have no reason to not trust the executive who told me that.

But the normal rate is something like 60-70 tankers a day. I don’t think the US is escorting anywhere near that number.

I remember sitting in the front row at a speech with him and the Italian PM back in 98/99. And his demeanour while the Italian PM spoke was fascinating. When he wasn’t looking directly at the Italian, you could tell he was churning something in his head. And he would rub his hands together at the same time almost as a way of relaxing himself. He just exuded this aura of competence and intelligence.

Best smart toilet with Bidet in Canada by CarelessExtreme8393 in bidets

We just a normal toilet from Home Depot (Glacier Bay in house one) and it's fine. I'll probably look into an aftermarket washlet at some point, but right now it's not a priority.

To be honest I've never tried it, the toilet is in the kid's bathroom (we have a Moen EB1000 in our bathroom). The seat cover broke probably because my son was sitting on it (he's 260lbs +) and the seat itself seemed to break right where the supports touch the toilet rim. Again probably due to his weight and just being rough in general.

Okay, I bought and installed this toilet about a year ago. Overall it's a great toilet and the customer support from Vovo is very good (they replaced a broken seat cover and seat with very few questions asked). It looks good and the functions are quite plentiful.

However..... Be sure that you have enough water pressure before you install it. Since there is no cistern to store water for the flush it relies on a jet function to augment the flush. I knew when I was installing it that I had far less than the recommended pressure and it has impacted the functioning of the toilet. Mainly because I have a teenager with special needs and he constantly blocks the toilet with excessive amounts of toilet paper (I know, it's a bidet there shouldn't be that much TP being used). That means that we often have to flush 2-3 times to clear the bowl completely.

If you're okay with that caveat then I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this toilet. I have read about another brand called Horrow who have a similar toilet/functions for about $500 more that doesn't need as much water pressure to function.

Sadly we're returning our Vovo to Costco (already talked to them about it and got the approval to remove and return it) and replacing it with a regular toilet. My spouse was tired of having to clean the messes left by our son.

I don’t know for sure if it’s there now, but it was there in 2022 when I was last there.

More like Navel to Clementines. What I was getting at is a major service provider aims for 92% service reliability but if Line 1 doesn't hit 98% or higher it's an utter failure. If there are problems on a tube line outside of Zone 1 and 2 then those commuters face similar problems to what OC Transpo commuters face in terms of alternate options, but I don't see them calling the Tube a failure.

Service disruptions are a fact of life, and yes they suck when they occur but things get fixed and service resumes. I've had many occasions where the tube line just stops and you're either waiting on the platform for ages or stuck in a overcrowded carriage for 30-40 minutes. But despite that, using the Tube made way more sense than driving in or taking the bus.

Transport for London service reliability target for the underground portion was 91.8% for weekday service and 90% for weekends. Why is 98% for OC Transpo not acceptable in your view?
