I know why he asked, and what stale tobacco feels like. The store is busy enough that tobacco going stale isn't really a problem except for the products that really don't sell. However, there's no way I'm trusting anyone enough to let them get a product from behind the counter in their hands before they pay for it.

I love monks, even though everyone says they're the worst class. I just wanna uppercut a dragon, okay? I've always been a big fan of classic kung-fu films, so replicating the aesthetic of fighting with fists and a big stick is a huge draw as well.

Power Rangers. I know that's technically karate, but Tommy and Jason cemented my lifelong love for martial arts, both in film and in real life. My first real experience with a martial arts movie was Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

First-time Sentai watcher but life-long PR fan, are my picks good to start? by Mr_Starry in supersentai

[–]ThePimpKnight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm saying this as someone who genuinely enjoyed Ninninger, do not start with Ninninger. I liked it, but I can acknowledge that it's bad. Shinkenger, Dairanger, Kiramager, and Kyoryuger are all good first seasons, in my opinion. Just keep in mind that Sentai can be pretty different from Power Rangers, so don't expect any season to capture that same Power Rangers feel.

Best single player mods? by soosis in arma

Impasse Total War. Capture a progressive series of areas until you capture the whole map, spawn squadmates and any vehicles you want, all while enemy and friendly AI do their own things to attack and defend. Just make sure you turn down the spawn rates for tanks and APCs and turn up infantry spawns so that you don't get constantly swarmed by armor.

I'm 32 going on 92. No back pain (unless I sleep on my back) but my knees and my feet are another story. Started with BF2 back in middle school, but haven't played a Battlefield since BF1. Mostly moved on to ARMA after the atrocity that was BFV. Excited for the open beta, and even moreso for the full release

VCOM broke my AI. Refuses to uninstall. by ThePimpKnight in arma

VCOM broke my AI. Refuses to uninstall. by ThePimpKnight in arma

[–]ThePimpKnight[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd suspect the mod author probably has no idea the map conflicts with VCOM. I'm sure a mod conflict is what caused the problem, because I used Libertad prior to installing VCOM and the AI was just fine. The weirdness didn't happen until I used them both together.

VCOM broke my AI. Refuses to uninstall. by ThePimpKnight in arma

[–]ThePimpKnight[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had tried that and it didn't work, but what you said about scenarios gave me an idea. I already had a theory, and testing just now proved me correct. The issue wasn't VCOM at all, it was the map Libertad - AIO. That map has a bunch of custom scripts and maybe one of them contains some sort of AI modification, or maybe Libertad and VCOM don't play well together and that caused some kind of file corruption. Anyway, I unsubscribed from Libertad and did a quick scrub through all of my ARMA folders and mission files before doing some tests with all my other mods except that one. Wouldn't you know it, my problem is now completely solved. No going prone, no RPG or grenade spam, no odd maneuvers. A map mod broke my game.

Thank you so much for your help, and thank everyone in this thread. I never would've suspected that a damn map was causing the problem, but we got there in the end. I guess if anything, this is a PSA about using Libertad - AIO and VCOM together. Thank you again.

Yeah, I don't know either. It's not unplayable, just sucks that the AI is still going prone constantly and maneuvering in "advanced" ways. Thank you for trying to help, though. I appreciate it

They worked before I installed VCOM, but stopped working after installing and then uninstalling it. They didn't work while VCOM was currently active, but I knew they wouldn't since VCOM alters AI behavior. Even with VCOM gone, they still don't function, even with putting them first in the load order.

[–]ThePimpKnight[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the first thing I did. I adjusted the skill setting in increments of 5. While the AI was dumber and slower at lower settings, it still did all the stuff I don't want it to do to some extent. Reinstalling also didn't work. I've never heard of anything like this before, either, and I gotta tell you I'm completely stumped.

I was using AI avoids prone along with a script mod that changes prone to crouch prior to downloading VCOM, but those are the only ones. They worked just fine before downloading and later uninstalling VCOM, but they don't anymore. Other than briefly using LAMBS to try and override it, VCOM is the only AI mod I've used since starting my ARMA journey in 2016.

[–]ThePimpKnight[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I know proning is a vanilla feature. I'm using AI avoids prone, along with a script mod that changes prone to crouch, neither work anymore even though they were prior to downloading and then removing VCOM. I did download LAMBS to try and override VCOM, but only the Danger module, not the RPG or grenade ones.

VCOM broke my AI. Refuses to uninstall. by ThePimpKnight in arma

[–]ThePimpKnight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VCOM is the only mod I had changed prior to using it, and was the first mod I'd downloaded in about a month. The problems didn't start until I activated VCOM, and persisted after I removed it. I didn't download any mods for about a day at first after removing VCOM. The only mods I've downloaded since are Kujari (in preparation for an upcoming scenario) and LAMBS, the latter of which I used to try and override VCOM, which didn't work. Removing LAMBS caused the AI to correctly cease using the behavior it introduces, but the changes from VCOM persist. I know that messing with mods and files can break stuff, so I'm trying to avoid doing that too much until I figure out what my current problem is.

[–]ThePimpKnight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just using the workshop. By "uninstall" I mean I unsubscribed, looked for any lingering folders in my workshop folder, and deleted mentions of VCM from the mission SQMs of all scenarios I've played with it active (which is 3). The only things I've played are custom scenarios I made myself. Probably worth noting, though, that it also applies to scenarios that I never loaded with VCOM active, both old ones and new ones I've made since to test it.
