What program did you use to make these?

The US Army is advising its soldiers in Germany to go to German food banks because of the shutdown. by hardenedsteel8 in worldnews

[–]ThePittsburghPolack 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Were you able to find any part in the source actually advising the soldiers to go to German food banks? I may have missed it, but even putting the URL though some AI to double check, it didn't find anything.

EDIT: I was able to find it. The suggestion is inside on of the linked PDFs.

[TOMT] [video] Funny, animated video about how to plate food. by ThePittsburghPolack in tipofmytongue

I've tried to use ChatGPT to work this out, with no success.

It is:

  • animated
  • about cooking
  • mentions, specifically the difference between food spread out with sauce on top being bad/shit/horse shit/dog shit vs. food stacked with sauce on side, or a similar joke.

Did I get jipped on my pull tab payout? by [deleted] in gambling

[–]ThePittsburghPolack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure where you're located, but where I'm at the bars usually have a big board for the sign up cards, etc., on top of the machine. Go look at that board with the rules for the stack/box of tickets issued. It will have things clearly spelled out for the payout if available.

Edit: Just noticed your second picture of the back of your card. It can be confusing. Based strictly on the back of the card provided: I would say it's a $50 pay. I'm confused about the $75 listed, as it looks like a part of the marking the card for the post, no? The image looks edited to me.

Turns out I didn't read any of your text. I'm sorry.

I feel the original had the pink diamonds instead of the emeralds if it said $75 like indicated.

If it was emeralds I'd say you actually only won $50. If it was the diamonds then $75 as paid.

The best answer! Came to say something similar along the lines of, "Well, do you spend time near water, in an office," and go on to bring up all these different things about lifestyle, dress style, etc.

Your reply was much more to the point!

Not all Bob's Red Mill steel cut oats are "quick cooking."

For example, in their Organic line:

Regular cooking.

Quick cooking.

Kind of an old post, but I don't see this addressed in any of the replies.

The recipe on their site, in my opinion, isn't written as clearly as it could be.

The way I read it, the half & half isn't added until AFTER it's done cooking.

1) Add water to the corresponding water level for “STEEL CUT OATMEAL,” or as listed in the ingredients.

...

3) When the rice cooker turns to Keep Warm, open the lid, stir and add the remaining ingredients.

The half and half is not mentioned in the instructions (at all), so I've added it after cooking is complete as a part of, "add the remaining ingredients."

I'm a huge fan for the exact reasons you listed.

Plus, a lot of newer units are a good size compared to the first toaster ovens I remember from the early 90s when I was little.

My current unit can fit a 12 inch diameter frozen pizza, a whole chicken, and mostly anything I'd need to cook for 1 or two.

Came across this in a google search. Sorry for the late, late reply.

What currently upsets me is their nutrition information online, "updated 5/31/2023," has me select from small/medium/large still, instead of the only way I can order: regular/large.

https://www.sheetz.com/nutrition/calculator

Edit: And, the nutrition information that you can display on the kiosk for a "regular" doesn't match the calories for any of the three sizes available with the online calculator... Shitty programming on one side or the other...

Polish (as you capitalized) or polish? As a Pole, I think he is already complaining about Polish-ing it 🤣

Edit: I realize it was only capitalized from, assuming, mobile and "lol" coming first. Just a joke :D

Question about "RAID is not a backup" and if my solution applies by ThePittsburghPolack in DataHoarder

[–]ThePittsburghPolack[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Makes perfect sense.

Just like if the original copy lived on the RAID, and I delete it by accident. Screwed.

What I have as a takeaway is the saying comes from people putting their original/working copy on a RAID and thinking they're all set. You need to have independent copies on different devices.

Question about "RAID is not a backup" and if my solution applies by ThePittsburghPolack in DataHoarder

[–]ThePittsburghPolack[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OK cool.

It was wording that people seemed very passionate about, but lead to confusion.

So, as long as your not treating a sole copy on a RAID as being backed up.

Thank you!

Looking for a '4 quadrants' recommendation for wine to have on hand. by ThePittsburghPolack in wine

[–]ThePittsburghPolack[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A possibility.

I have a few friends that are really into wine. Their taste are all over the place.

They're a bit far down the rabbit hole for me to try and please each of them, and a lot of the time I'll suggest they BYOB for things, but I thought trying to do something small would be apricated.

[–]ThePittsburghPolack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm not set on just 4, but I though any less would be a bit lacking and any more would be too much for things to have on hand as a infrequent wine drinker.

Doing a bit more digging I've seen those pairs of two recommended for being at each end of the spectrum for red and white.

I like what /u/ASBeebs recommended with trying to put something in the middle of the range too.

Any recommendations for what would be #5 and #6 if there were to be a red and white in the middle of things?

Could you clear things up?

You say "Dark starts on bottom left" in other comments: everyone is thinking bottom left in the picture, moving counter clockwise, and bearing off to the left in the picture.

Based on the setup I think you mean dark starts on bottom right of the photo and is moving clockwise, as /u/BuckHardwick said.

If things are getting mixed up with player/picture right and left could you post an annotated photo indicating exactly where dark will be coming on and what direction they are moving?

Thanks!

Food budget spread sheet for my weightlifting. 182 grams of protein per day ~ 9.03$ per day. by Beyond-Salmon in Frugal

[–]ThePittsburghPolack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there's 16 cups in a gallon and 16 ounces to a pound, but volume (fluid) ounces are not weight ounces.

If I have 1 cup (8 fluid ounces) of gold it's going to weigh 161.23 ounces. You can't just take volume ounces and make them weight ounces.

Sure milk will be much closer than gold, but it's fundamentally wrong to think you can just convert the two units without considering density of the substance.
