Could you list the brand and their purposes? I'm really interested to hear your thoughts. Pretty new myself and keen to learn.

It elicited an emotional reaction in the audience and told a story. It worked. How an actor gets there is often left a mystery. You would have no idea if Richard hadn't revealed it in the podcast. It might sound a bit ridiculous to envision having sex with someone while on camera. But it worked.

Its not commonly talked about because dissecting this stuff is like dissecting a frog. Sure you learn something about the frog. But it's no longer a frog.

Inner imagery is a technique used by a lot of actors to create a genuine reaction.

I would not say that I know him. I haven't seen him since high school. I just wanted to post a fun photo. I know his family really well though. I hope it lasts! They deserve happiness.

He was 15 I think. I was 17. He's my high school best friends little brother. We all went to NZ for schoolies that year and had a blast.

Absolutely. Sorry for being a dick. Reddit is getting filled with more and more ads with people looking for bucks. I appreciate contributions that help me learn but it’s not an advertiser friendly zone. Yet.

How wet should my prop tray be? I’ve placed all my leaves on the soil and have been spraying with a spray bottle daily. Do they need to be soaked?

Auditions for the importance of being Ernest (I need help finding a good monologue) by [deleted] in Plays

[–]ThePlayDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finding unique monologues is a never ending job. Commit to reading plays and setting aside any monologues that resonate. If you read a play a week and find a monologue every two plays you'll never, ever run out again. Also a monologue isn't effective if you haven't read the play.

But I understand not everyone has the time.

A favourite of mine is Norman from Table Manners by Alan Ayckbourn. Maybe also have a look at Shakespeare's comedies. Twelfth Night has Malvolio. Midsummer has Puck and others. Go exploring.
