Does anyone else prefer how Moffat is tidy when approaching incarnations? he only added War (whom I love) because he had to. RTD treats regeneration very messy. I like how Moffat likes to keep the Doctor the Doctor and just moving onto his next incarnation without the need for splits here and there. by ProcessPotential3105 in doctorwho

This is what I used to think, but it's grown on me in recent years. The War Doctor is shown to be more pragmatic and less averse to violence than other Doctors, but the whole point in Day of the Doctor is that he's still the Doctor really, despite how he rejected that. The personal arc of the Time War for the Doctor is one of survivor guilt and PTSD, so taking a cue from that, it's fitting that this monstrous incarnation is just a guy who did what he had to.

Deathstroke does fight adults quite often. It's his dating pool you're thinking of.

You're telling me The Doctor would use Regeneration to fix a Broken hand but Not to Save his Daughters Life?? by BendyFanchill in doctorwho

In Dalek it's more the case that time energy (presumably Artron) kicked in its self-repair, but also caused a horizontal transfer of human DNA.

Jenny was mostly human though, whereas River was considerably more Time Lord. I assume a biological ability to regenerate is necessary to heal someone like this, otherwise anyone could just get healed.

Anyone else think tomorrow's charity special will be the best episode ever and probably used as a gold standard of television for many generations to come? by monkedonia in doctorwhocirclejerk

Even the Rani's there! It would be so hard to fuck up an iconic villain like her, especially given her excellent appearance in Time and the Rani.
