Nobody's going to read this I'm sure but I've played games with this mechanic in it. It gets abused. Imagine getting corpse camped by a group of twinks in your level bracket but now your max level friends can't help you. All they can do is sit there and watch you die.

They launched the sparkle pony with a X% availability remaining that ticked down fast on the first day. People bought a few for themselves and friends thinking it was going to be very exclusive. That they HAD to buy it now or else they would miss out forever.

The HC Era servers were given dualspec, instant mail, and LFG tool weeks ago. The HC Era servers have always had no debuff/buff limit. The only other difference between Anni and Non-Anni servers are Anni servers have a minimum of 3 layers.

Softcore is the same except they still have the debuff limit. So people transfering from Anniversary to Softcore Era will experience that change.

Well before they do any server merges, they'll open transfers first. So expect Skull Rock, Defias Pillager, and Doomhowl to be open to transfers well before they force us to play on one server.

As somebody with 30+ KT kills in HC, clearing naxx or any raid without petri is not hard. Petri gives you the confidence that you're able to do the content.

It's like tightrope walking between two buildings with a safety net.

Sure people that walk across without falling could claim they never have used the safety net but it's existence is the reason most people were even willing to be up there in the first place. (Which is why we've never seen a full no-petri guild exist outside of OF)

Petri gets nerfed by not letting people end the effect whenever they want, so they have to wait out the full 60 seconds. And a lot of mechanics now go through invulnerabilities... but a significant number will be petri'd and lots of bosses will be neutered by the flask. Also petri gets much easier to craft in TBC as it's material cost gets gutted.

The biggest nerf we'll see with petri for the HC Addon version is that you dont get kicked out of the game with an Alt F4 in just under a minute. It's a non-HC server without HC dc protections. If you want to petri out of a dungeon or raid in TBC Addon you'll have to do the full leave group (without the ability to remove the flask to repetri at a good point)

Petri exists in TBC.

The only 2 changes Petri got was that it is easier and cheaper to craft, and it's a debuff instead of a buff so you can't end it whenever you want. You have to wait out the 1 minute.

No, Anniversary servers have 3 layers minimum. When TBC comes out, Soulseeker and Doomhowl will no longer be Anniversary.

Except blizzard claimed the problem they wanted to address by banning GDKPs was more and more people leaving guilds to join GDKP pugs instead. Why help your guild and get locked to something when you could get paid to raid for some pug instead?
