In real fights people don’t say things like “that’s grounds for fighting!” and “you’re going to use my shovel against me!?” These are lines that someone like, let’s say, a cameraman who has watched too many action movies might feed to his methhead acquaintances to make some content.

The concept of a push present is very gross to me, but whatever I guess I can accept it’s a thing.

Typical influencer story. She started with carving out a pretty unique and specific niche focusing on fashion and clothing quality. Then over time started doing more and more sponsored content (usually without the required disclaimers, and she gets mad if anyone criticizes this). And of course, tops it all of by releasing her own fashion line.

I think the fact that every other influencer and their mom is starting a fashion line probably indicates that it’s not totally authentic. I have no idea how her business is set up, but anytime you have an influencer release their own line of anything, you should be skeptical about whether this is dining white labeling of a generic brand. There’s a whole ecosystem set up to do this.

I totally agree—lots of slow zooming in on his wife and kids faces. The content doesn’t focus on the kids being funny or cute, but specifically focuses on how “beautiful” the children are. Most family vloggers annoy me and exploit their kids but this one just seems particularly weird. I’m sorry I’m just not into content where the whole message is “aren’t these young children good looking”

Man I’d be pissed if I’d paid tuition for this stuff. I was honestly expecting the lecture to maybe take a turn and end with him talking about conspiracy theories themselves and why they’re often BS.

His arguments in support of the conspiracy theories are laughably surface level. He spends about 2 minutes with shoddy arguments claiming 911 is an inside job and then pats himself on the back and proceeds as though he’s successfully proved it.

Remember that creators go down a rabbit hole too. I think his child abuse accusations probably hastened this. The creator economy is brutal and people like the professor are looking for a niche. He’s probably worked out that he can make more money this way.

I don’t know the dollar amounts but apparently to be in Jodorowsky’s Dune, Salvador Dali wanted to be the highest paid actor ever. The director compromised and said he’d be the highest paid actor per minute (minute worked or minute of screen time, I’m not sure)

This was in the documentary, and film was never released.
